Stitches

does anyone know any crochet stitches that are simple but create appealing patterns? The Ripple stitch maybe?

i like to crochet but i learn best by seeing and i would appreciate any stitch that is unique

1. you could try chaining rows with alternating colors.
2. try these sites for some ideas. I am a big fan of shell stitch and v stitch, both which lend themselves to color work as well.
3. I have patterns for like a rippled afghan. I would be happy to share with you if you could figure out through this how to e-mail me. We could work something out. Ripple pattern is really easy.
