  1. You can put a little neosporin on it, but she will probably be put on antibiotic pills by the vet.
  2. wash it with peroxide, or wait till tomorrow, and go to vet.
  3. use superglue. My dog got attacked by a pitbull (not that badly)and her skhin was ripped open. Since it was late at night, we couldn't go to the vet. He said to use super glue to clost the cut. It worked. SERIOUSLY!!!
  4. Do not put superglue on an open wound. If you have a new clean gauze pad you can put that on, with a small bandaid over it just to keep it clean. Don't get the bandaid on the incision.
  5. How in the world did it open back up again after a few months? Your post says someone opened it. HUH? That's scary. Can you cone her so she can't lick it and pull at it? Then you could butterfly it for the time being.
  6. An incision takes about 7-10 days to heal. After that time it should not open up. So it concerns me that after a few months that this incision is open again. I would advise you to call an afterhrs clinic - you likely do not have to have her seen tonight - but it would be helpful to talk to the Vet on call to see what he/she recommends. If this is not an option, then my suggestion would be to use a bit of hydrogen peroxide to clean up the area and wipe away the discharge. If there is definately an opening into the abdomen, then you need to have her seen asap. Neosporin is also a good idea - you can get either of these meds from a pharmacy even at this time of night. Also, you need to find a way to keep her from getting at the area. If you have an elizabethan collar, be sure to put in on her, if not try putting a small t-shirt on her.
  7. peroxide it, dry it antibiotic ointment it and cover it! I wouldn't even go to the vet......if it is not bleeding or raw looking...it is a surface wound, the pus coming out is the same as if you or I have a scabby scrape.....when the scab comes off...your skin quickly closes itself. I mean...I am not saying NOT to have the Vet's opinion....but this is not as serious as some may think. If you are not freaking out....it can't be that bad.....I know because I am a multi pet family guy and would freak if it was something bad...but with time, I have come to understand.....what did folks do before there were Vets? My Grandfather's were both DVM's.
