crochet baby blanket?

i need to croche a baby blanket for a girl what 4 colors should i use and what pattern should i use

1. well, you can find a ton of free patterns online, just google, "free crochet patterns"... I am currently making a yellow blanket, with a star puff stitch, and I would recommend doing something lacey and in an open stitch. I think the pattern I picked is too involved, and it takes too long to finish. You will want to finish the blanket, and possibly make some booties too. If you must use four colors, try making the blanket one color, and then making the trim or ruffle of the blanket in a varigated color. I am making mine yellow, with varigated yarn on the edging that is pink, blue, green, white, and yellow.
2. It depends on the look you want to achieve. for a soft pastel look I'd use pink, light purple, white and maybe lemon or a deeper pink. For a non traditional look, go for bright pink, orange, white and lime green. Lots of baby patterns these days are in the brighter colours. Check to see what the baby's mum would prefer.
3. If you are making something for a girl, the color possibilities are endless. Most baby afghans are made with pastel colors, but not all. Yellow, Blue, Pink, Green, Lavender, or even a multicolored yarn would work. Just pick four colors you like. 4. Depending on how much time you have to make the blanket: The quickest to make would be a mile-a-minute blanket. A traditional favorite is the ripple. A granny of any three colors with each square outlined in the fourth would look great also. You have three ways to go: Traditional pastels: white, pink, blue, soft yellow, pale green, or light lavender. Bold bright colors like tangerine orange, lemon yellow, lime green, teal blue, bright purple. Or Color Box Colors: Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow (I'd leave out Black, Brown, and White is maybe.) It would help to know what the mom-to-be likes, or how she is decorating the nursery.
