Black mold/mildew in magazines?
I have been given an excellent stash of old magazines full of crochet patterns. However, they are riddled with black mold and they stink. I want to photocopy the patterns -- is black mold harmful in any way if I am just going through the magazines? Should I wear a mask?

- it is very harmful you should be wearing gloves and a mask.or you should be getting rid of them before you get sick and it spreads around your home.
- I wouldn't even touch them. Do you have mold allergies? consider someone who does. Especially if your in a public copy place. I can trigger someones allergies bad. Take it from someone who suffers from 3 different kinds. Try and google the magazines or go to a used book store and see if they may have them in stock or even the library.
- it can make u sick so i would be careful it would not be worth it why not just put them in the garbage un less u wanna be in the hospital sick? take your pick its your choice
- They're dangerous and should be destroyed before they make you and yours deathly ill.
- Black mold is very dangerous. There are meny other forms of mold, however, so it is difficult to say whether or not the mold on your magazines is the deadly black mold variety. As for the mildew and the stink, sprinkle the pages with corn starch or corn starch baby poder. Seal them in a plastic bag for a few days and brush off the pages. The mildew will brush away and, if you use baby powder, they will smell nice.
