Follow up care with stitches?

My 17 month old fell today & ended up with a 1/2 inch laceration & bleeding. We took him to the ER & they stitched it up with dissolvable sutures. At discharge, the RN told me something about cleaning it with 1/2 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1/2 parts water & then apply antibiotic cream - my son was so ready to go at that point & I cant remember after how many days to start that? I just wondered if anyone has experience with this?

1. I would think you could start gently cleaning at any time.
2. You would start doing that right away. To help kill bacteria. You should do that in the morning and at night after bath.
3. soap and water and NOTHING else. Start tomorrow.
