How long did it take you to crochet your first ripple afghan?

Mine is full-sized, using Classic Red Heart Yarn...in one color. I feel this afghan will be my Mona Lisa. I'm using a fat hook...doesn't specify a size...large, white, and plastic

  1. 4 hours.
  2. Umm.. mine is going on about 8 years.... I'll let you know when it's done. LoL.. if I can find it.
  3. I've crocheted lots of afghans in my life and it takes different amounts of times depending on how hard the pattern is and how much time you have to spend with your hobby. Good luck on your afghan. Crocheting is a very relaxing hobby and now that I've answered your question....I feel like crocheting myself LOL
  4. Well, so many factors to consider here. Your average speed, time out for potty breaks and refueling, distractions, frogging mistakes and unknotting yarn. You could time yourself. How much can you knit in one hour? Three inches? How long is your afghan? 6 feet? That's 72 inches. That comes out to about 24 hours.
  5. I did my first one in about a week, but then again, I am parralized and have nothing better to do with my time. I have been crocheting for 23 of my 32 years. I do have one sugestioin for you, hun. Invest in a set of bamboo hooks. I have a set and they are all I use. I got mine on ebay. Eight hooks for 10 dollars, can't beet that with a stick. Happy stitching, Nightshadetn
