Does anyone know where I can find a free pattern and directions for a crochet prayer afghan or throw blanket?

1. It's not free, but Lion's Brand yarn has a book on prayer afghans, that has not only the patterns, it also includes prayers for just about every occasion. I love mine, and it wasn't too expensive. Try Michael's, or any knitting store.
2. Try your local Freecycle group. Or a lot of skeins of yarn will come with patterns on the inside of the wrapper.
3. Lion Brand's site had a free prayer shawl pattern. It uses four skeins of homespun. Sounds like a lot, but it works up pretty quickly. lionbrandyarn.com Update: I used Lion Brand's "pattern finder" and searched for "prayer afghan" and a free pattern did come up.
