Can someone recommend a book on how to learn crochet making?
Crochet-is a an art by which a singular hooked needle is used to fabricate a piece of material, something that could be similar to knitting but is in fact a very different way of knitting.I would like to know the name of some books that would help me learn this dying art.

- I learnt to crochet one wet August summer holiday in our family caravan. My Grandmother taught me. I used to love it, but I don't find much time now I'm an adult. Try this link. It's not a book, but it is probably all that you need, apart from some hooks and wools/silks/cottons. Good luck.
- The idiots guide to knitting and crocheting, it has a step-by-step guide to learning how to crotchet. You should find it at ur local library.
- Stick with the veritable knitting (and crochet) Goddess herself: Debbie Stoller. She's the editor of Bust Magazine and the author of "Stitch 'n' B*tch: The Knitter's Handbook" and "Stitch 'n' B*tch Nation." Her newest book is "Stitch 'n' B*tch Crochet: The Happy Hooker." The book is fun, easy to understand, and filled with good illustrations and funky patterns. And I think you're wrong about it being a dying art. Debbie says that between one in three and one in six women know how to knit or crochet (and more crochet than knit). It's actually a very hip hobby at the moment, and men do it as well as women.
- I've been crocheting for 30 years. It's my favorite hobby. My suggestion would be to go to any Michael's, AC Moore, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabric or WalMart. Go to the yarn section and look through the books. Pick one that appeals to your eye. There are quite a variety that are all pretty good for different price points. They even have CD's now that you can use on the computer if the pictures are confusing to you, you can watch someone do the stitches. I can also highly recommend those Learn to Crochet kits from Susan Bates. I looked into them for the Intro to Crochet class that I teach. I opted not to use them but they are very good. Some books I might suggest: http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82334&PRODID=153480 http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82334&PRODID=157407 http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82334&PRODID=171871 One of the CD's that are out now: http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82334&PRODID=70654 One of the kits that I mentioned: http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82334&PRODID=47185
