Where Can I Find a Website to learn how to Crochet?

I've been crocheting simple blankets and now I want to do a more complex design but every website i've visit wants me to do a pattern with no picture so i don't know how it would turn out. Where can I find a helpful site that can show me what the pattern would look like and is easy to follow?

  1. You can learn a lot on youtube. But about.com is a good place to. If you want to get a magazine there is a type of pattern they have eveloped called magic patterns. They have the pattern drawn out for you in a diagram so you can see what you are doing. You can find these patterns in crochet world and magic crochet magazines.
  2. There are lots of crochet patterns online with pics. Let me give you a couple of my favorite websites: http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com http://crochet.about.com http://www.coatsandclark.com http://www.lionbrand.com For the most part, they don't have step by step photos, but most of them will have a photo of the completed project. I also like: http://www.crochetcabana.com She uses step by step photos on how to do certain stitches. She has a few patterns on her website too and they are pretty easy by the looks of them. If you need a video on how to do a more complex stitch, you can always check out youtube. There are tons of crochet videos on there. ~Happy Crocheting!~
  3. Magic Crochet Magazine. I subscribed 20 years ago, they're probably one of the best. Good luck!!!!
