Stitches

When you learn a stitch that is new to you in crochet, do you search it out for all it has to offer?

I have always been this curious about crochet stitches and if I find some one who want to learn, I want to let them see the many things crochet stitches can do. It is a wonderful art.

  1. If I like the stitch, I usually see where I can use it in place of other stitches in other patterns.
  2. Usually, no. I usually use crochet either for imitation of renaissance needle-made laces (reticella, etc.) or as a sturdy base for fulled wool items, such as slipper soles. The crocheted imitation reticella is much speedier than actual needle-made reticella, although not as sturdy. I use crochet more as a craft than as an art.
  3. If i do a new stitch and like it I look up patterns and then think that i can do that as i learnt that stitch.
