  1. www.learn-crochet-now.com or http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/bind-off.php
  2. some people just can't get it no matter how hard they try. I am a perfect example! but try knitting. i find it easier.
  3. you can get a book for it a craft store that's really the easiest way to learn cause their are pictures, it just takes alot of practice.
  4. you can probably find a video online, but if you go to a local fabric store, like Joann or Hobby Lobby or Michael's, they sometimes offer free craft workshops. my mom also bought me this book called "how to knit in 10-20-30 minutes" and it really worked! i'm sure there are some for crocheting available at a craft store also.
  5. Learning to crochet takes practice on your own mainly. However I found it helpful to watch someone slowly make the stitches while I simply watched. Then I went off by myself and practiced. When someone who knows what they are doing start critiqueing what you do while learning it becomes very frustrating. I had the added problem of being a lefty and learning by watching a right handed crocheter. Start out by just watching your mom or grandma and ask them to do just one stitch slowly so you can watch. It would be better than a video because you can ask questions while you watch. Take advantage of the 'experts' you have at hand.
  6. well i amnot left handed but i hope this helps, why dont you go down to your nearest senior center and see if one of the ladies there can teach you. I know it may sound strange but when we try to learn from family it seems to be harder then if we learn from someone else. so why not give it a try, not only that it just might make their day, that they can help someone
  7. My sister learned from my Grandmother, but she passed away before I was able to learn it as well. My sister hadn't kept it up, and was unable to teach me. I saw a class being held one day at my local library. I attended and learned that our county had a couple crocheting groups. There were both right and left handed crocheters, which accomodated everyone. Try finding out if your local library can help you find these groups or I'd go with an earlier answer of visiting a senior citizen's home to learn. Believe me, trying to learn from a book or video is VERY confusing if you've never officially done it. Someone showing you step by step is the best way. The class was great for me with the only problem being I was the only female over 12 learning at the class. ;)
  8. Have them teach you while you look in a mirror.. So that They are doing it left handed. My girlfriends mom taught a lefty person that way. As she was right handed too!! You can try this site also. http://www.lionbrand.com/ They have free patterns too!
