how am i supposed to take care of my stitches?

I resently got stiches (yesterday) 6 of them to be exact, in my ankel/shin region. I got a pamphlet but I lost it. So I'm wondering what im supposed to do, I know that im saposed to change the bandaid every day. I think that it said I am to contact someone if its still bleeding the next day... which it is... so basically im wondering how to take care of them and watch out for infection and should I go back to get my foot checked out since it's still bleeding. By the way, the nurse that stitched up my foot just told me change the bandaids and handed me the pamphlet so thats why I'm so clue-less.

1. keep em clean, keep em dry, keep it covered for just a couple days, longer if its down in your sock or shoe. a lil dab of neosporin daily goes a long way. thats it, any excess redness or drainage get it rechecked. they can come out 7-10 days on your ankle. your regular md can take them out. if you cant get an appt just return to the er to have them removed. -my spiel i tell patients
