  1. Here's a video that demonstrates yarn over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Qq__ttEMUo .
  2. To make a yarn over, just wrap the yarn around the right-hand needle from back to front counterclockwise before knitting the next stitch. Then just work the next stitch as normal. When you get to the yarn over on the next row, treat it as a regular stitch.
  3. A Yarn over is an increase that leaves a decorative hole in the knitted fabric once it is knitted. All you need to do is wrap the yarn once, by bringing the yarn forward over the right needle (as if you were going to knit), then continue with your knitting the stitches on your left needle. 4. Yarn over (yarn forward or yarn round needle in Brit patterns) means just that. Wrap the yarn over the needle by bringing it forward then to the back again to knit the next stitch. You're making an extra loop that will leave a hole in that row. Sometimes, if the pattern is for a straight piece of knitting, the yarn over will be paired with a decrease somewhere else on the row so that the stitch count stays the same. If you do just the yarn over, you'll have more stitches when you're done!
