What is your favortie kind of yarn for knitting?
My favorite would have to be angel hair. It's so soft
Public Comments
- i dont have one
- a very thik one
- Of commercial yarns, I like Red Heart yarn best, but I prefer hand-spun to anything commercial. Spinning is easy to learn and very relaxing. Of the wools I've spun so far, merino is by far the softest, so soft that it can be worn next to the skin.
- I like chunky, because it's easier and it doesn't take so long. Bohemia brand makes some really neat, soft yarns.
- I prefer to use natural yarns that are suited to the project I'm working on. However, it does take practice to use plant fiber yarns because they don't have the crimp and give than animal fiber yarns do. I suspect my favorite yarns are Lamb's Pride and Cascade 220.
- It depends on what I am making. I like Lion's Pound of Love for baby layettes, Red heart super savers for afghans and slippers, Lions wool for scarves, Red Heart soft yarn for scarves, and Lions cotton for dishclothes.
- I like red heart because you get a lot of yarn for less and it's thick and sturdy
- I like using the bulky yarns like "Big & Lofty" for scarves. They're really soft and quick to work up, and they come in some pretty cool color combinations. For afghans I use Red Heard worsted weight. The specialty yarns are just too expensive for making big projects. I make a lot of afghans :)
- The free kind, someone was giving away a box full of yarn, and I made my mom a really nice afghan, and made a rug out of some. A particular brand, no, just something to keep my hands busy. Best to you.
