Stitches

I have too many irons in the fire. I start something and lose interest, so here they sit. Help?

I wanted to learn painting so bought a kit; I have six jigsaw puzzles I haven't finished. I started a jacket (sewing) for my daughter. I want to wallpaper my bathroom. I have several things started in crochet. Several books I want to read. I like to write letters. Have a great idea for a magazine article. etc. etc. etc.

  1. Attention Deficit: lack of concentration. You'll feel so much better if you follow through on one project to the end.
  2. You sound like my wife. She becomes enthusiastic about something, then a short time later, we don't even talk about it. I accuse her of waking up in a new world every day. Perhaps you simply learn as much as you care to about whatever it is, and then tire of it quickly. Not to worry, just keep hunting until you find the one that really gets and holds your attention, whatever it may be.
  3. It's great that you have a lot of interests. More people should be that way. Can't stand when you hear kids say....... I'm bored.....there's nothing to do! Give that kid one of yer puzzles! Acually coming from a home organizer's stand-point. Write a list! I try to write one every day in a to-do like journal. What I want to get accomplished for the day. That way I stay focused on the task at hand. At the end of the day it's rewarding to go back and check off the to-do's you got done! It's also fun to flip through it later on to see different things you've accomplished. You'll be suprised at all the irons you managed to take out of the fire one by one. P.S. Make sure you write all your ideas down when you think of them. Then one day sometime when you want to take some "me" time, you can see the list of what all ideas you have to choose from. Maybe even invite a friend to do it with you that way you're vocused on it as well plus you can visit while you put together the puzzle. Enjoy your creative busy head, but slowly! SmileyCat : )
