How do most crocheters [ or you ], do the stitch and symbol art for most crochet patterns in time allowed?
I have done mine in a variety of ways, as copy on a machine and trace, or use graph paper, but have used regular paper, just any way to pull the info together or organize it, with or with out written instructions, while I have time to do the project.

- I don't usually do that. I find I follow a pattern better when I read it in the common "short hand" version. The symbols tend to confuse me. If I have to have a chart, it's usually because I am doing something in filet crochet or I want to make sure I place puff stitches in the right spot to make a certain design. To do that, I use Mircosoft Excel. I make the "cells" into small boxes. Each box is usually one stitch (or int he case of filet crochet, it's a space). I color the boxes black were I want the special stitches to go. It works for me and I have come up with many designs this way. ~Happy Crocheting!~
