Is there a printer that uses iron transfer ink?
I want a printer that uses iron on transfer ink so that when I make a design I can print it out and iron it on to what ever I want. If there is not one why not.?. The paper leaves a plastic coating that gets in the way of needlework. You can buy small books that print iron on paterns and you should be able to do it in your own place. Are we being prevented because the book producers are afraid to loose business. And I can't find books with just the right design. Seems to me if I could just buy the transfer ink I could make my own.

- iron transfer ink, good idea, seeing as ink is the same for transfer paper, which does use plastic coating, and when ironed on shirt, does not bleach out onto material, ink must be ok to use, ... you're looking to be able to put pattern on shirt to use as needle work, and without plastic rubber in the way,... so any printer may do, its the material used to transfer, try a heavier paper stock 30-40lbs (normal 20lbs weight), this site has new soft paper for transfer... http://www.dharmatrading.com/transfers/ ...
- Ink from printer is most often permanent on fabric, making it not ideal for needlework, but you can still transfer using turpentine, or other formulas. Also you can buy fabric sheets for your printer to print directly on them. Either way, if for needlework, set the ink setting to quickprint for less ink. Don't forget good old tracing paper. It is like carbon paper, but cleaner, and use a tracer, stylus, anthing to trace pattern onto fabric.
