How long does it take for the stitches to dissolve if you tore during delivery?
I was told by the doctor it would take a couple of weeks and the stitches would disolve. I gave birth three weeks ago and feel mostly healed, but the stitches are still intact. Does any one know how long it can take for them to disolve?

- 2 weeks (around)
- I think its 4-6 weeks if I remember correctly. I only had stitches with my son and I have had 2 daughters since then!
- i had some too. i think it was around 6 weeks or so. i remember thinking they should be dissolved then reached down and could feel a knot that was tied.
- you need to let your doctor know that they haven't completely dissolved yet not us
- Just like it takes your body about 6 weeks to heal, it'll take about that long for the stitches to dissolve, too. Sometimes not quite that long, it just depends on your body. Congrats on the new baby!!
- I was told a couple of weeks as well when I had my now 4 month old daughter but it took 5-6 weeks
