When sewing, how can you avoid having the stitches show once you turn the fabric inside out?
I like to make plushies, etc., but when I turn the fabric inside out you can see some of the stitches. I sew by hand. I do leave at least 1/4 of an inch from the edge. I've been doing backstitches. Is there another stitch I should be doing, or what am I doing wrong?

- Hand sewing is much more elastic than machine sewing, so you're likely to see the stitching in a stressed fabric like a stuffed toy covering. Can't think of much to do about it other than switch to machine sewing -- and you may still see seam threads on firmly stuffed items.
- Try a shorter stitch length and pulling them really tight without bunching the material, and then don't stuff it too full. Good luck! .
- try using a shorter stitch length and don't stuff it too much or I'll end up looking like a big round balloon!
- The other ideas can work. But you could also try using the clear acrylic thread. It is a bi@#h to work with 'cos it's invisible and that is what you want. Also you could use thread that matches the fabric exactly and it would barely show. good luck!!
- IF YOU WANT TO HIDE IT Try the instructions on the right side, both the 2nd and 3rd ones down. Read what it has to say about the stitches http://www.perestroika.ca/html2/vest/handstitching.php
- All the earlier suggestions are great. After trying them and the problem still exists, color showing stitiches with a magic marker. I know it is cheating but sometimes it is necessary
