When she gets her stitches out will her hair grow over the scar?
Im not sure when she gets her stitches out but she hasn't gotten them yet. Im taking her tomorrow so she can get a new bandage. Her bandgae has slipped down a little to where I could see her just a little of where she hurt her foot but its covered up. I put just a little of an ace bandage on it loosely. Thanks doglover! My girly cut her foot on something in the backyard.

- As a rule, hair/fur does not grow over scar tissue
- The hair may grow around it enough to hide it or not make it noticeable.
- I think it depends upon the size of the injury. My shepherd was attacked by a raccoon, if you can picture this, at the top of her right leg toward the inside near the top of her thigh. She got over 200 stiches internally and plus the outside and the hair never grew back around that area. She's also had stiches elsewhere where she's been hurt (we live in the country) and you can see the incision but the hair is around it, if you can get what I mean. I hope your little girl is okay.
- yes
- Usually enough hair will grow around the scar that it won't be noticeable. Hair doesn't grow on scar tissue. The vet shaved my dog's back leg to treat a lick sore last spring and by summer it was growing back. I had a dog that run onto a nail and had to be removed surgical (ouch). Hope you dog is fine.
- Depending on the cut.. the scar and how deep it was.. and how bad the tissue got hurt.. but most scars do not grow hair. good luck
