Where did this saying originate?
"A stitch in time saves nine" (Also, what does it mean?)

- I believe Benjamin Franklin came up with this saying and that it appeared in his Poor Richard's Almanac. The saying refers to addressing a problem early to avoid having it become worse. For example, if you can fix a rip in clothing with a single stitch now, it is better than waiting until the hole is big enough to require nine stitches.
- Benjamin Franklin. He wrote it in the Poor Richard's Alminac. It means, if you make an effort to fix something early, you'll have less to fix. If you wait, you'll have much more to worry about.
- It means that if something is wrong, fix it right away or you will need to do much more to fix it later on.
