How many people understand the expression "A stitch in time saves nine"?
I didn't know what that meant for years, I'm wondering how many people understand it.

- nope. i heard it explained a long time ago but forgot.
- It must be not too many in this "throw-away" culture of ours. Sad. When was the last time anyone re-sewed a button or darned a sock?
- I understand it...easy. Say you have a small tear in your pocket..and it requires a 'stitch' to fix it...but then you procrastinate....and with a little more wear ...the pocket tears more requiring more tending to...this is an analogy for myriad things that if caught in the beginning and fixed...leave time later for leisure.
