what is mean of this proverbs:A stitch in time saves nine?

Public Comments

  1. It basically means that you should be aware of what you are working on so that you notice any mistakes as it always takes alot more time to correct the fault if you carry on regardless. OK?
  2. that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!!
  3. If you fix a problem while it is still small, you will not have to work nearly as hard repairing a huge problem later
  4. It means that if you fix something as soon as a sign of problem or malfunction shows, it will be much less work than if you leave it for later, cause the longer you leave it the bigger the problem gets.
  5. it implies timely action.
  6. it means that if you have the skills to repair a rip in the time-space continuum, you can either 1) save yourself nine minutes in the bank queue while waiting to withdraw your welfare check... 2) or you can save nine Albanian children from working in an orange juice bottling factory for less than 3 cents per day. There is heated debate on this to this day...
  7. Fix a little problem (one stitch) before it becomes a big problem (lots of stitches). (If there's a hole in your shirt and you *don't* fix it, the hole will rip to a bigger one.)
  8. it means, literally, if you stop and fix a small tear with one stitch, it will save you from having to make bigger repairs when the tear is bigger (saves nine "stitches.") The larger meaning is, if we take care of problems when they are still small, this saves time and resources - so fix something now, do not wait until it needs a lot of repairs to be fixed. 9. do it now and do it right rather than put it off or cut corners because in the long run it will be done right and therefore quicker
  10. it means that it is better to spend a little time to deal with problems or act right now than wait.
