Question about removing stitches.?
So my stitches were supposed to fall out and haven't. Now skin is starting to grow over the stitches, anybody know how to get them out? The doctor is closed till after new years, so I'm kind of stuck. How do I get them out of the skin?

- get a razor blade, or a very small pair of scissors and carefully cut them away, then pull them out carefully, i have done it before a couple of times.
- I would take a needle or safety pin and heat it up first to sterilize it and then break open the skin over the stitches. With a pair of very small cutting devices, cut the stitches and pull ever so gently to remove.
- You should be able to remove them. Snip them in the middle of each & pull out them out, one at a time with a tweezer or small scissor.. When you're done, swash the area with rubbing alcohol.
- put antiseptic on your stitches first then make sure you sterilise what ever your using to remove them, (maybe tweezers) ask a friend to do it for you, one that knows what their doing. or go to your local pharmacy (Medication shop) ask them to look at it and maybe they will tell you if it is bad or not? But you said : my stitches were supposed to fall out and haven't? If the doctor said to you that they fall out, I think that means they are the dissolving ones, their not supposed to be taken out, that is what they mainly use these days. and that is probably why your skin is healing over the stitches. in that case also maybe visit your local med shop and maybe they will know once they look at it. i suggest you dont remove them until you get expert advice. Good Luck.
- if you are healed use small scissors to cut and use tweezers to take out done it before on daughter
