1. I'm not sure about the on line but you can go to any craft store the will have what you need
2. There are quite a few. I compiled a list of them for Mac on the Craftster board a while back--the only one I used is MacStitch, generally--and there were a good deal for Macs; Id'd imagine there are even more for PC.
