  1. The best way to find free patterns for handcrafts (knit, crochet, cross stitch, crewel, beading, etc) i to use a search engine like Google or Dogpile -- use a big one to get better results -- and type something like "cross stitch pattern free baby" into the search box that comes up. Check out what it gives you, then refine your search if needs be. This is a good way to legally get all the free patterns you'll ever want or be able to use.
  2. Go to this web site there are tones of cross stitch patterns to look at. http://crossstitch.about.com/od/baby/Free_Cross_Stitch_Patterns_Baby.htm
  3. Try www,Free Patterns.com
  4. EMS Designs has some very nice things for babies: http://www.maurer-stroh.com/ems_complimentary.html For just a few dollars, you can get these two samplers. I picked mine up at my LNS for $2 each (just the chart). They're really cute and stitched up super quick (I finished 2 in one weekend) http://www.serendipitydesigns.com/Serendipity_Designs/L-137_Snips___Snails_49_.jpg http://www.serendipitydesigns.com/Serendipity_Designs/L-138_Sugar___Spice_49_.jpg Also, I recommend checking out your local library. You can usually find a wide assortment of cross stitch pattern books and find either a whole pattern to use, or pieces to make up your own pattern.
