Cross Stitch pattern from 28 count to 18 or 16 count?
I've found 28 count is way to small and was thinking of changing to 16 or 18 count. If something is 10.5" X 16.5" on 28 count, what size would I need for 16 or 18 count? Is there any reason I couldn't change the size of the fabric or will it make the pattern look odd? Thanks in advance

- If I've done my math right, the 16 count fabric would give you a pattern which is about 18" x 29" and the 18 count would give you about 16" x 26". The count of a fabric means how many stitches you have per inch. When you switch to a lower count it means that the floss strands cover less of the fabric and give you a "lighter" feel. If you're using one or two of the strands from the six in your floss, you might want to use three or four strands instead. I hope this makes sense and helps!
- Just remember when you go to a higher count you raise the resolution. so the picture will be smaller but much sharper. If it is a very simple pattern i wouldnt make it bigger because it can look funky and at you wont be able to tell what it is until you take a few steps back.
