1. If you search google for cross stitch patterns you get quite a few websites. Some have just alphabets or borders, but you can find some good charts and other patterns. As for free thread and material, I'm not sure there. I usually buy bundles on Ebay, if your patient you can find super deals...especially if its an estate. They just want to get rid of the stuff and for 5 bucks or so you get $50 worth of stuff. I hope this helps...
