Puff stitches....easy to do but my pattern calls for yo 3x, pull up a lp, then pull thru all 7 loops. r/o?
I'm having a hard time pulling through all. Not sure if it's because of acrylic yarn and metal hooks, or just that I crochet rather tightly. Does anyone prefer plastic hooks, and if so, why?

- The description is more like you are doing bullion stitch and not puff stitch. It cant be the metal hook, you may be using a smaller hook for the type of yarn. Try using a bigger hook and keep your crochet loose. It should be easy.
- If you are using a metal hook and acrylic yarn, you are using the wrong equipment. Metal hooks are for crochet cotton thread. Acrylic yarn will require aluminum hooks which are bigger. Most likely you will need an aluminum hook somewhere in the size F, G or H. When you get the right size of hook for the yarn, you will have no problem doing this stitch.
- sounds to me like you are a tight crocheter is all, just loosen up with those sts is all I use all kinds myself for different things and different yarns been knitting/crocheting for 30+ years as well as some designing and publications Good Luck!
