Stitch question, EASY 10 POINTS?
I had surgery a week ago. I have a large incision in my belly button & three on the right side of my chest. I was wondering if it is normal for them to be a bright pink, very warm to the touch, & bruised around them. Please only serious answers! Thanks in advance. I don't have a large belly button, they actually expanded the size of my belly button double what it was. & I won't have the stitches removed for another week. Also I have been having the symptoms that caused my surgery, upset stomach, vomiting, & constant nausea.

- If you are running a fever I would definately get in touch with your healthcare professional tonight!!! That could be a sign of sepsis, aka infection. They should not be warm to the touch, but I have seen bruising around staples if that is what was used on your belly for the large incision. Either way, even if you aren't running a fever contact a healthcare professional tomorrow, just to see what they say. They might take a blood draw and check your white count or just the stitches themselves. Good luck.
- Yep completely normal. That's the reaction of the skin to stitches right before they come out. You WILL have them removed in a day or two orso, won't you?! BTW I did not know you could have a 'large' incision IN your belly button! What a huge BB you must have ha ha!
