  1. Go to http://craftown.com/crolesson.htm I think your problem is that you don't know where and how to put your hook in the chain. These pictures look pretty good. Don't worry too much about it. With a little practice, it'll come to you, and pretty soon you will be surfing the net, looking for all those free crochet patterns. I hope this helps you. Don't be discouraged. The same thing happened to me when I was first learning.
  2. what Margaret C said was right and the link is a good link. When I first started crocheting I did the same thing. You will get the hang of it and then watch out you will be an addict
  3. I recall my own learning experience(s) when I first started crocheting -- I tried it on my own, tried looking at illustrations and found I was lost. But once I had someone VISUALLY show me the "how to's" -- I was off & LOVING every stitching moment. Perhaps this is the case for you too? I suggest, for online visuals, that you visit the website http://www.anniesattic.com and click onto their "stitching help" link. There you will find many video clips you can watch right on your pc for free. The website "youtube" also has many clips you can watch. I also recommend you consider taking a beginner crochet class at a local yarn shop, or sit with someone you know that enjoys crochet. For more moral support, check the Crochet Guild of America's website at http://www.crochet.org and see if they have a Chapter near you, or check your local paper to see if they some other sort of stitching group you can join. If you don't have such a group available, there are many online crochet groups here on yahoo that are just fantastic -- "CrochetPartners" is just one of them! ~Dee Stanziano CYCA Certified Crochet Teacher
