Am I crazy or will a stitch in time save nine when it comes to North Korea? Where will we be when North Korea and Iran start mass producing these nuclear weapons and selling them to the highest bidder. We are already stressed trying to keep up with the nukes in Pakistan, India, and the Ukraine. Do we need more nuclear children to baby sit? All of our children's future rest on the decisions we make today.

Is there a time limit to file for compensation for "pain & suffering" for a car accident in VA? My daughter was involved in a very bad car accident and was in the hospital from Christmas Eve until New Year's Eve, she had extensive internal bleeding from lacerations on her spleen and her left kidney as well as 4 broken ribs, she had to have a procedure to stop the bleeding and then had to have 2 units of blood as well as plasma and developed blood clots in her bladder. Everyone says that I need to make the driver pay or his insurance I guess for what happened, the driver was drinking and he actually pulled the emergency brake, my daughter knows not to ride with anyone that has so much as smelled any type of alcohol and to always wear here seat belt, but of course she is 17 and even though I say it every time she leaves the house she didn't do it that night. I have explained that even sober it only takes a second to end your life or someone else's. I have tried to get her to do the right thing, so please no Mommy bashing, this is pain full enough, I almost lost my daughter. My question is, is there a time limit for me to file for settlement for pain and suffering (I guess that is what it's called) for my daughter, I feel that after what all she endured she deserves something positive out of this, she did tell the guy driving to stop being stupid and slow down and drive like he had some sense that is when he said "I got this" and pulled the emergency brake. The driver is was only 19 at the time and this kid has lived with me and my husband and our other children about 7 months out of the last year, NO he is not my daughter's boyfriend, they are very close or I should say were very close, like brother and sister, not anymore since I am not taking this lying down, he has lived with us because his mother is an addict, she is addicted to Percocet and takes up to 20 Percocet 10's a day, she told me this herself and has been in and out of rehab about 3 or 4 times in the last 7 months, and his father is an alcoholic, so he is following in their footsteps. Anyway, sorry, I just needed to vent and let you all know a little background info. I just need to know if anyone knows if there is a time limit in the state of Virginia in which I need to file for "pain and suffering" or something similar for my daughter. I appreciate any and all of your help in this matter, however, I would greatly appreciate it if any of you with stupid a** answers to keep them to yourself or any advise to further put me down when I am down about this situation enough as it is, so please only serious answers and be nice please, I have been through enough, I almost lost my daughter for Christmas, be civil and nice please. Oh, one last bit of info that might help, the guy that purchased the beer left the accident, never even went to the hospital, his brother got scrapes and scratches on his face, a nose bleed and 5 stitches over his eye, and the driver got scrapes and scratches on his face and 3 stitches in his finger, needless to say, they all left the hospital that night and my daughter was there from Christmas Eve to New Year's.
"A stitch in time saves nine".Do you normally save 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 or 0 stitch(s)? This phrase means "a timely effort will prevent more work later" The stitch in time is simply the sewing up of a small hole in a piece of material and so saving the need for more stitching at a later date, when the hole has become larger, Clearly, the first users of this expression were referring to saving nine stitches.
Having a hard time with a plot for my story? So I have the characters all figured out, even the minor ones and the antagonists. I also figured out all the setting and a lot of the scenarios and terms and things in the story. I'm just having an awful time stitching them together with a plot. I had one but it was weak. What should I do for inspiration? I'm not going to copy anything but I need an idea of how someone comes up with a plot.
When is it a good time to go running so i won't get a stitch? I got a side stitch while running one time, 2 days later it still hurts? I was running after a workout, and i was at 1.95 in distance, almost 2 miles, and i just wanted to finish the last mile, but i had this side stitch on the right side right above the waist. It still hurts, 2 days later, same spot. Only when it stretches, is pushed on, and anything else that moves it. What is the problem? I want to workout later today, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea...neither would be running after the workout?

What does 'in a stitch' mean? It's from the song "Sic Transit Gloria - Glory Fades" by Brand New. Used as: No longer cool, but a boy in a stitch, unprepared for a life full of lies and failing relationships.
What kind of stitch do I use to hand sew a pillowcase? I found a how to website, but it has several different techniques. I'm not sure if I should use a running stitch, or backstitch, or slipstitch, or catch stitch, or prickstitch, etc........I have never sewed anything before except buttons. I am a perfectionist and do not want to see the thread on the outside of the case. And I want it to last a long time.

How do I change colors in garter stitch and keep all the floats on the same side? I'm trying to make the Checkerboard slippers (old time pattern, many may remember it, easily found when searched but i got mine from Ravelry) and it calls for 6 stitches of one color alternated by 6 stitches of another. It's only knit stitch, no purl side. How do I keep all my floats on the one side when I change my colors? Do I need to twist my yarns to keep the holes out from both sides of the frequent color change?
How much do I charge to sell finished cross-stitch? I have been commissioned to make a cross-stitch piece, frame and all, for the first time. I'm not sure how much to charge for the finished product. I know to charge for supplies, but then is the 'going rate' for the time I spend completing it? Thanks for the help.
When the crochet instructions tell you to do a stitch "in the cluster", what does that mean exactly.? I am working on a crochet project, and the instructions only tell me to do a dc in the first cluster (making the cluster part I understand), but I do not know where in the cluster they are talking about. Can anyone help? These instructions are just so hard to understand. Plus, I made the beginning chain the exact number it specifies, but it row 2 i ended up with 9 less clusters than it said I was supposed to have. Any ideas?

Does anyone have any tips on how I can start my Cross Stitch Design business fom home? I'm thinking of starting my own home business soon using my own cross stitch designs, which I can produce quicker than I can cross stitch them. Does anybody have any tips I could use to start it? Or do any of you do this kind of work from home or know someone who has that might be able to give me some good tips?? And what about having/using a website to sell my work on? Any tips on starting it too since I don't have a website yet but I would like to use one for this. And what about copyrighting my designs for both the website and the booklets that I would be selling my designs in?? Can anybody provide info on that or where I can learn more on it? I'm half deaf so phone use will be a major problem (which is where the website helps) and I can not work full time due to a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) I suffered when I was a child, which caused my deafness and hearing loss. Any tips and info would be helpful and muchly appreciated on these. Thanks. No spam please just honest answers. I'm American.
Is it normal to get a side stitch without exercising? I've been getting them a few times a day the last few days at completely random moments. On my left side, under my chest, it lasts about 10 seconds each time and it hurts when I breathe (during the stitch). Should I be worried and talk to my doctor or has anyone else experienced this and it just goes by itself? Apart from exercise, what causes side stitches?
What stitch do I use to sew my shirt up? I don't have one of those sewing machines that sews 4 threads at the same time. I only have a good old sewing machine. So, how what stitch do I use to sew my shirt back together?
what are the best ways to avoid the stitch? I have to run a time trial, most of the time I do not get stitch but I'm nervous I may eat the wrong thing or drink too much water or not enough because I am nervous about the test. What are some definite things to avoid? Is there anything I can eat/drink just minutes before the run that will stop me from cramping/stitch or getting a dry mouth?

How do I prevent a stitch when running? Every time I use the treadmill in the gym I get a really bad stitch in my right side just under my ribs after about ten minutes. I end up having to stop because it gets quite sore, even though I am still physically able to carry on as I am a regular gym goer and don't have this problem on any other machines. This is quite frustrating and I would like to know how to prevent it from happening? Thanks.
Embroidery machines: Does anyone know if the stitch erasers work? I have a brother PE-150. I had a little "mis-hap" with a canvas tote bag. I've been using fine, sharp pointed scissors, with a little success. It is just very time consuming. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the "electric clipper" looking stitch erasers...or any other ideas to take out my stitches that were messed up! Thanks.
how do I avoid getting a stitch in my side while running? I've been training for a 1.5 mile run that I have to do soon. Without fail, I get a stitch in my right side at about 1 mile into the run. By the time I finish, it's agony. I've heard these are due to lack of oxygen, lack of electrolytes, etc. Are there any concrete facts as to what causes them, and how to avoid them? btw I do my run outdoors over hills and such, the 1 mile mark comes after a long uphill run. I like the extra challenge, but I know this probably adds to the problem.
Is learning how to stitch hard? I am planning on learning how to stitch to make a graduation present for my girlfriend. She always said that me making something is the best thing i can give her. So how hard is it to learn how to stitch and i got 1 month is that enough time?

39 weeks pregnant stitch in left side? I have this weird stitch in my left side. It's feels like I've been running a mile! But I haven't done anything. It's not like round ligament pain that I've experienced before and It's not like a contraction either. It's just a persistent stitch. It gets worse if I lean over, and feels a tiny, itty bit better if I stand up. What could it be? Should I be worried or do you think it will go away on it's own?

How do I start a garter stitch after I have completed my cast on row? I am soooo new at this. Actually I only started 1 hour ago. I made my cast on stitches and now it says to knit 36 rows of the garter stitch. How do I begin a garter stitch? How do I do a garter stitch? What happens to the cast on row? Should stitches have caused pain in my thumb or is it normal for stitches to hit a nerve? I cut my thumb and got 4 stitches. The cut didn't hurt before the stitches and I was able to move my thumb normally. Once teh stitches were in it started to hurt. After 5 days I had them taken out and the guy taking the stitches out said that one of them was in a nerve (because it hurt more than anything getting it out). Now, 13 days after the stitches went in, it is still tender and not as usable as it should be.
Why do people get a "stitch in their side" when running or pushing their body? When I go out for my jogs, my routine is about 1.2 miles long. I wear weights on my ankles to make the most of the time and distance and it starts easy, gets hard after a 1/4 mile, and then I get the stitch after about 3/4 of the whole routine. I just wanted to know why anyone would get the stich in their side? Thanks in advance.
30-stitch singer electric sewing machine buttonhole stitch option does not work? I have a 30-stitch electronic sewing machine. The buttonhole stitch option does not work. I have 2 buttonhole option in my machine and both of them does not work. It beeps when I press the paddle, but the rest of the other stitches work. I have tried turning the machine on and off, cleaned it, tried different fabrics, and nothing worked. Can anyone help me with this please. Thank you very much!
Why is there a stitch poking out of my arm? I had surgery 5 years ago this month and had sutures and then had them removed. Within the past two months one stitch is starting to poke out of my arm. They had been removed 5 years ago (2 weeks after the surgery) but they must have left one behind. Should I just yank it out myself, go to the doctor, or is this considered malpractice?
What if some of the symbols in a cross stitch pattern are the same? I continued on a project my sister had started years ago, and just now realized that some of the symbols stand for two different things. How do I know what to do? Also, next to some of them there is an asterisk that connects to a note about tweeding (using more than 1 strand of floss simultaneously when cross stitching) and directions to mix floss and pearl blending filament. Do I ignore the colors with the * next to them? what do I do? I do not want to just give up on this project!

Where can I get a cross stitch kit of New York? Since visiting NY last Xmas I have been searching for a good pattern to stitch. How to crochet a ripple stitch lap blanket? Does anyone know of a very easy to follow ripple stitch crochet pattern for a lap blanket/afghan/throw? Not a full size blanket and not a baby one. Just something to throw over while watching TV. How many chain stitches should I start with and what to do next? Maybe about 4 ft wide? I am not sure how to calculate how many chains I need for that width or how many ripples I need. Thanks!
What is your favourite advanced needlework stitch? I am working on some new needlework designs and am interested in making use of some advanced counted-thread stitches. Some of the designs are on canvas, others are on evenweave, and one is on linen. I would really appreciate hearing from avid stitchers - what is your favourite complex stitch (or combination of stitches)? References would really help! By counted thread stitches I mean such things a Gobelin stitch, Rhodes Stitch, Needleweaving, things like that. These stitches can be used in embroidery, samplers, canvaswork, counted thread, etc. The ANG has some GREAT stitches online, I'm just trying to get an idea for new compilations that people actually like! Thanks.
What is the best knitting stitch for a purse strap? I want to knit a strap for a bag that I knit. I tried seed, garter and stockinette stitch, but it stretches so much, way beyond the length I want it. Is there a better stitch to use? Or is there a way to knit it so it's less stretchy? Should I just be knitting it to be the size I want once it has stretched? I'm just worried it'll keep stretching the more I use it.
How do you convert a knit stitch for knitting in the round? I just bought a knit stitch reference book, and I'd like to use some of the stitches for mittens and socks. How do you convert a regular knit stitch pattern for knitting in the round? Do you only work right-side rows? Thanks. Okay, I'll give an example. Maybe I wasn't clear. For example, on a flat piece of work, you would work stockinette st by knitting every stitch on the right side and purling every stitch on the wrong side. On circular needles or dpn's, for stockinette st, you knit every round. So I'm wondering how you would convert a more difficult pattern stitch to work for circular needles or dpn's.
What are stitch patterns on a sewing machine? I'm looking at different sewing machines but I'm not familiar with them at all. Some say 18 stitch patterns all the way up to 100+ stitch patterns.. What does that mean? I mostly just want to get a sewing machine to make fab clothes for my doggy.. Will the 100+ machines benefit me any more than an 18 stitch pattern machine?
