What to do with completed cross stitch? Best answer- 10 points!!!!? I absolutely love doing cross stitch patterns. I find that it's one of the only things that totally relaxes me. The only problem is, I don't know what to do with the patterns once I have them completed. I don't do tacky ones, mainly birds, children and baby patterns, herbs, Chirstmas, etc., very nice patterns and ones that I would want to hang in my own house. The only issue is, my house is very modern, so I have yet to come across a pattern that would actually go with my decor. I give them away as gifts, spending hours on Ebay looking for that right pattern for the special person and framing them to match that person's decor. However, I don't want to burden family and friends with numerous cross stitch pitures. My problem is: what do I do with the patterns that I really like but don't have anyone in mind to give away to? I have thought about framing them and putting a few of them in rural craft sales, but cross stitch is a dying art, so I'm assuming that they wouldn't sell. Also, my brother-in-law is a teacher and at his high school he has silent auctions, so I have thought about putting a few in there. I don't know. What should I do with them? Thanks in advance!!!! ~~

I am looking for a counted cross stitch pattern - please help! (time sensitive)? Hey, a few years ago, I made an adorable little bib for my nephew. I got the pattern out of one of those pattern booklets that are about the size of a folder but don't have any actual pages in them. Anyway, the pattern was a fork, knife and spoon, and the handles were blue and white checked. It was *maybe* 3" tall at the most... I tried to recreate it from memory and it just doesn't look right to me. If you have this pattern or one similar, please please please help me. If you can't help me with that one, I'd like anything simple that I could put on a baby bib. It seems like everyone I know is pregnant right now. (if you have this pattern and can scan it, you can email it to my yahoo email account...)
Honestly, how would you feel getting this at your baby shower? I'm currently working on making my cousin-in-law something for her baby shower. I'm big on cross stitching, and so I've been cross stitching a pattern for her. It's a picture of a train, with 5 animals in it, and the alphabet going around the picture. I find there is a lot of pink, so I'm going to put it in a blue frame to make it more masculine cause she is having a boy. Would you personally appreciate that if someone did that? Or not? Be honest.

Cross stitchers? Any good patterns? I haven't done cross stitching in a while, but I'm very good at it. Every so often, a special baby comes along and I end up doing a bib or something else appropriate. The problem is, I've already done all the patterns I have that are appropriate and look fun. Does anyone know of a cute pattern for a little girl, ideally easily accessible online? Her colors are pink and green and I'm thinking fairies or bugs or something else cutesy. Not so much with the ballerinas and such. Help? : )
I want to cross stitch something for a newborn? Ok so I'm not the most crafty person, but my grandmother taught me how to cross stitch years and years ago and I remember it being fun. I'm thinking of taking it up again because I need something to do and I am having a baby girl in October and would love to make something for her. What kinds of patterns will I be able to find for a baby (like bibs, receiving blankets, etc.) and where can I find all of the things I will need to get started? I was thinking of going to Hobby Lobby, will they have this kind of thing there? Thanks!

What does this dream mean? I get off the bus and dropped off at my house. Only my house isn't really something I am particularly familiar with. I start walking down a cobble stone path to my "home". My home apparently was a haunted castle with lightning striking above it. The wind blew across my shoulders. "Brr...", I complained. I heard what thought to be be a ten though folds of footsteps marching behind me. Turning around I saw a military formation stampede of gignormous Pacman Ghosts. They were all black and white with Darth Maul's Lightsaber. "Oh crap..." I said under my breath. I bit my lip as I took off running towards my castle's entrance. Grabbing the handle I realized the doors were locked. "KATHLEEN LET ME IN!!!" I yelled. "Can't you see I'm busy?!" She replied annoyingly. Looking behind me, they were getting a lot closer than before... "KATHLEEN!!!!!!!!!!!" I hollared. "ALRIGHT THEN, SHEESH!", She used some magical source and pulled me in as the door shut on it's own. This was not the home I was familar with... The ground was medievil cobble stone like. It was unbelieveable. Kathleen was in a lazy boy chair next to the fireplace with her 3000 Cross-stitch machine. I watched her place a cross-stitch pattern through a slot and it stitched the patern out on fabic perfectly in less than 2 minutes. I was impressed. "Kathleen, will you help me with some homework?" I paced towards her and placed my black backpack down besides my leg. "Go ask your father... I'm busy." She said as she was placing another pattern in the slot. "Ok then...", I picked up my backpack and paced to the corner of the room where lead a spiral staircase going up. When I got up I opened a door...it was so sudden... "Oh baby... I would so leave you for my wife..." Steven said. My jaw dropped open. He was talking to a red camaro... Steven kissed his camaro affectionately. "Oh baby...let's make love!!!", He ran his fingertips on the camaro's side. "VROOMM VROOOOM!!!!!" The camaro roared back. I sank back leaning against the entrance. "Baby...oh you're so sexy..." He cooingly said. "VRRROOOOMMMMMM!!!!!" The camaro roared again. "Oh really Sexy?...Well...I have been...you know...working out..hehe." He smirked. "Hey...how about you and me...lets make love baby... Don't worry...I'll be gen--" He turned and looked my way. My mouth was still hanging open. "KITTEN!!!! DIDN'T YOU SEE THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN?!?!!?" Steven spazzed. "N-no..." I gasped... He slammed the door in my face. "Now...where were we..." He seductively said. "OH YEA!!!" He moaned. "VROOOOOMMMMM VROOOOOMMM!!!!!!!!!!!" The Camaro roared. I slowly walked down the staircase with my backpack in hand. "Awkward..." I sung in my thoughts. "Kathleen... Will you help me with homework?" I asked. "I thought I told you to go ask your father!!!!" She yelled. "Uh...he's too busy doing something..." I said. "And by doing something I mean literally screwing...wow... I will never look at our car the same ever again...neither my father either...wow..." I thought inside my head. "GO ASK YOUR FATHER!!!" She yelled. "Hold up... I'm dreaming..." I said softly. I looked around and paced towards the 3000 Cross-stich maker machine. I picked it up and threw it in the fireplace. "KITTEN ANGELA SPENCER!!!! YOU'RE GROUNDED!!!!" Kathleen screamed. "IDC YOU'RE NOT MY REAL MOTHER ANYWAYS!!!" I punched her in the face knocking her out and woke up. So what does this dream mean?

Zelda items or characters that begin with U, X, and Y? I'm working on a stitched alphabet hanging for my best friend, who's expecting a new baby. Since we grew up playing classic Zelda together, I thought it would be fun to do all words from the Zelda games. But I really need help with a few letters... U: The only thing I've found at all is Ulria (from Link's Awakening). Kind of an obscure character, but seriously the only U I could find! X: There's no way I'll find a word starting with X, so I'll take ANY X. Right now I've got "Elixer Soup" from Windwaker. Y: There's Yeto from Twilight Princess, but it will be tough to turn him into a stitching pattern (the simple pixellated sprites from the older games make great cross-stitch). The only other thing I have is thye Yoshi toy from Link's Awakening. FYI, the rest of the list is: Arrow, Boomerang, Cucco, Deku nut, Ezlo (Epona = too hard to stitch), Fairy, Ganon, Heart, Ice rod, Jar, Key, Link, Map, Net, Ocarina, Potion, Quiver, Rupee, Sword, Triforce, Vaati, Windwaker, Zelda Is there something I've forgotten or something that would work better?
Do you have little quirks about your fav hobby? I was just curious how many of you out there have little quirks about your fav hobby? Like for example, my very fav hobby is cross stitching prequilted, prestamped baby quilts. When I start them I ALWAYS start working on the outline of the pattern first, then all the stain stitch, & french knots, that way after all that I only have the x's left to do. I used to not only do all that, but when all that was done, then Id go & do all of 1 color through the whole quilt, but I now do only 1 area after all the outline, satin stitch, & french knots are done. And I ALWAYS make sure my hands are super clean when I work on the quilt. I want to know its super clean when i work on it. If there is a stain on it, (that is if its not on the pattern), I use those colorx bleach pens to get the stain out, before it has to be washed. PLus, if its blood for example I use proxide (helps boil out the blood), & then the bleach pen. But I only do the baby quilts that are white to begin with, that way that way none of the colors fade. Also I am my WORST critic, if it dosnt look right, i take out what is done, & start back over again, till it looks right. What are your little quirks about your fav hobby you do?
What type of Blanket is better? Now, my friends mom is 2 or 3 mos pregnant and for the shower gift, I was thinking of making a blanket for him/her. I am not sure of what type of blanket, no-sew tie fleece blanket, like this http://cj214.blogspot.com/2009/02/no-sew-baby-blankets.html which is pretty simple, or there's a regular sewed quilt blanket, like this http://www.inspiri-art-and-craft.com/baby-blanket-pattern.html which is a little harder but may make a nicer blanket as I'm planning to add his/her name on it, but I am a very good cross stitcher, so I could also do a cross stitched blanket, and I also knit, so I could also do that. Any ideas what size? Which one? Anyone have any other patterns you'd suggest? Thanks.
Help! I need a quilting business name? I am stuck on a business name - I am so not creative without a pattern LOL Some more about me to help your creativity ;-) I will primarily make quilts to sell but may have cross stitch or crochet/knitting products as well, so I don't necessarily want the word "quilt" in my business name. I have three preschoolers so I only get to work on these things when it is relatively quiet or at night. So perhaps something to do with the peace and quiet of crafting??? I mostly make patchwork or scrappy quilts, my favorite color is purple, favorite flower is daisy, favorite season is spring. Favorite quilts to make are baby/crib size, pinwheel patterns, and I Spy quilts. Thanks!!!

How do I keep the back of this x-stitched bib looking clean? I picked up this Bucilla bib kit on clearance yesterday and am thinking of making it as a baby shower gift. I'm an experienced counted cross-stitcher but have never really done stamped cross-stitch before. This is a quilted bib with the pattern stamped on it, so of course there's a front layer of fabric and a back layer of fabric, with some batting in between. If I work this as I would "normally," the back of the design will be on the back of the bib, including any carryovers and the beginnings and ends of floss. Since there are 2 layers of fabric, does anyone have a tip on how to work this project so that the back of the pattern is *inside* the bib where it can't be seen? I can figure out how to work a stitch so that the needle doesn't pierce the back fabric but am not sure how I would start and end a section of floss. There are no tips on the instructions that came with the kit. Thanks to anyone who can help! https://www.plaidonline.com/productDetail.asp?itemID=45009&productName=&Cat1ID=&Cat2ID=&Cat3ID=&brandID=&keywords=bucilla+bib&New=False&Closeout=False&HotDeal=False&page=1
Sewing Ribbon Onto Cross Stitch? Sorry I can't find a picture of the pattern to show you, but I have a baby cross stitch (with not very many instructions). Its done in either pink or blue with two booties and beads over them. Then at the top of the bootie you attach a bow, and then you sew on a length of ribbon from the top of one bootie to the other. So my question is, how do you do this? I don't know how to attach the ribbon or the bow properly and the pattern doesn't tell me. Am I supposed to pierce the ribbon so its tacked down? Help much appreciated! :)
Would you feel obligated? Parents, A family member of mine is pregnant, and I want to do something special for them. I really want to make a baby pillow, just for decor, but because I don't have a sewing machine and no experience, I'm worried it won't turn out right. I'm getting really good at cross stitching pictures. I found a really nice pattern, that I'll frame after. I want to give them a thoughtful gift, but I don't want them to feel obligated to hang it up if they don't like it, or doesn't go with the baby room. Would you feel obligated? Were you ever given a gift like this...did you like it? Did you hang it up?
Omg. PLEASE help! (10 points) All you gotta do is read a bit and tell me what you think.? Sorry for sounding desparate, but i kinda am. Basically for english we're writing short stories, could you just read mine and tell me 1) what you think of it 2) improvements needed 3) do you get it? 4) is the ending good/ does it need to be improved/suggestions? thankyou SO much if you help! my story: “I’m sorry.” I whisper to myself. And to you. With a huge sigh escaping my mouth, I sit cross-legged on my couch. Motionless. My guilty secret; the thing I have been worrying about for the last 3 months was finally over. I was free from what would have meant responsibility, sleepless nights and, most importantly being what I would have been if I never chose this murderous and selfish yet liberating course of action. Shame. It rules over me now, scarring me the way a razor-sharp blade pierces through a baby’s fragile skin. But who would the blade belong to? I ask myself. My eyes, which were transfixed to the TV were now gazing down to the wooden floor. I stare at it, scrutinizing every grain, studying its uniformed pattern. I look around the room. Empty and cold. Like exactly how I was feeling. As if I could smell your anger, see your agony, hear your despair as if your emotions were reflected and amplified to me through the other side of a mirror. It suddenly occurred to me that in my hands I hold a piece of knitting that hasn’t been touched since the incident. Blood red wool in crochet stitch for the sleeves and colourful yarn in garter stitch for the body of the half-made sweater. As a result for leaving this half-finished creation in the corner since week 3, bits of hair and dust now collected between the pores of the formation of this piece of clothing. It looked very pretty. But I couldn’t be bothered with the making of it, and how I would have to treat the finished creation. I ask myself. Should I continue? Part of me wanted to finish with this construction, but the other part took over. I sigh again. A sigh of frustration, as I wrenched the beige plastic protector off the knitting needle, the way a dentist yanks off a clients tooth. As I tugged off the first 12 stitches, I sensed their reluctance to come off. But I had control over it. Over its life, its future presence. It wasn’t too late to stop now, to change my mind and carry on with what was my half finished creation. But I don’t. Orange, yellow, green, blue. I counted to myself, watching this beautiful structure fall apart helplessly. Within seconds my piece of half-completed art was coming undone, unraveling itself, only leaving mere creases on the string of yarn where they have been entwined with each other as a result of having left it there for 3 weeks. But these creases, the occasional jitter from keeping the yarn straight and smooth was me. My cruelty. My inhumanity. I didn’t want to continue. But at the same time part of me I wanted to reverse the damage I just did. I question myself. Again. Why did I do this? Surely, if I just finished this piece of art I could give it to someone, or use it myself. But why destroy something which had so much potential? By this time, my art was completely destroyed; there was nothing left apart from the remaining blood-red yarn lying, abandoned on top of the pure, white cloth-covered couch. Each knit was a breath of creation; yet here I am, heartlessly stealing away its life. Me, the creator was now the destroyer. I worked on it for 3 months, but decided I simply could not bother. My selfishness was the cause of death. This piece of art which was growing, was becoming a life. Until I decided to tear it all apart, stitch my stitch, row by row, touch by touch, breath by breath. Pieces of yarn which looked to me for direction, for form, for purpose. “I’m so sorry.” I whisper again, hoping there was a glimpse or chance you could hear me. “Mummy? Are you there? Why did you do it? Don’t you love me? I’m really really sorry if I did something wrong mummy! It really hurts to see you don’t care. I love the sound of your voice, the sound of your heartbeat. I want to be with you mummy! They said what they did was called an abortion. Mummy, why don’t you want me? I love you, mummy.” thanks so much guys for reading it, i really appreciate it! i changed the ending a tiny bit, what do you thnk now? “Mummy? Are you there? I didn’t really know what happened. Don’t you love me? I’m really really sorry if I did something wrong mummy! It really hurts to see you don’t care. I love the sound of your voice, the sound of your heartbeat. I want to be with you mummy! The strange people in white coats said it was called an abortion. Mummy, why don’t you want me? I love you, mummy.”
