How do I take care of stitches in colon? I had a colon/rectum biopsy today and I ended up having to get a few stitches and the nurse said to keep them clean and dry. How in the world am I supposed to take care of the stitches when they are inside? I have chronic constipation could that create a problem? BTW: I had the biopsy to figure out why I'm having the constipation
Care for mouth surgery with dissolvable stitches and sutures? My mother just had some gum surgery done. They took skin from the roof of her mouth and stitched it to the front gums. She needs to know if she can use salt water to rinse her mouth out, or will it ruin the stitches? Any other care advice is good.
How to care for mole removal stitches? I had a mole removed beneath my eyebrow on the 13th of August, and my doctor covered it up with a piece of tape and said not to remove it unless it falls off, then don't worry about it. The tape is becoming loose, and I was just wondering if there is anything special I need to do to care for the stitches once they are revealed? I do not see my doctor again until the 24th and he didn't give me any instructions. Any advice? Has anyone experienced this before? Okay, thanks for the advice. =) It was definitely helpful.
How can I care for stitches? I just cut myself at work and I just got 6 stitches..I was wondering how should i care for them so it doesn't leave a nasty scar as I have very sensitive skin and scar very very easily..Any advice? Thanks

How should I take care of my stitches? I got stitches on my finger on Saturday and my doctor told me to keep gauze pad and splint on it for 3 days. I get them removed in about 5 days but should I keep a band aid on it or nothing at all? I go to school and there are lots of germs so I've been putting a bandaid & basatracin on it but i do not know if i should leave it uncovered?

I would ask the doctor who put them in but he said if you can put a tatoo on your ankle you can take a couple of stitches with out feeling any pain. I did not ask anything more. You could tell he did not like doing his work and I didn't want to upset him any further. stitches care how to and what to do four days ago I had a very large growth removed from my private part. The stitches are very hurtful and the swelling is pretty bad. How do I sit and how is the best way to take care of this? Also does it hurt to get stitches removed? Thank you in advance.
How do I take care of a dog bite after stitches on my hand? I had 2 stitches on the palm of my hand from a dog bite, they were in for 10 days and by like day 6 I was almost pain-free. I got the stitches taken out today and my doctor put some "sanitary strips" or something over it to make sure it doesnt open up. They are these little white strips that stick to the bite....I dont really know how to explain them anyother way. And they hurt, and where the stitches were has become a little swollen! I would really really aprecieate if someone who has had this before or something could tell me if that is supposed to happen or what I should do.
Husband fell yesterday, ankle pain and stitches care? My husband fell from about 15 feet up yesterday at work, then went to the ER. He received 6 stitches on his cheekbone right under his eye. It wasn't a clean cut, so I know there will be some scarring. I'm not sure what he should do to care for it, as all he was told was to keep it dry and come back in 7 days to get them removed. There is a pretty dark scab formed, and I was wondering if he should clean it with soap and water? Can we put Neosporin on it? Do we have to wait until scab falls off to put Mederma on it? His ankle took the brunt of the fall. He previously (12 yrs ago) had pins put in this ankle, so it worried me. They took x-rays and said they didn't see any fractures and called it an acute contusion and wrapped it and gave him crutches. He's in a lot of pain. What can I do to help? He can't even handle an ice pack on it. Could there be a more serious injury that an x-ray couldn't see? I'm just worried about it healing on its own. How long will it take? He is 30 years old, and they told him not to put ANY weight on it, he's on work restriction. He figures he'll go to occupational health to get the stitches out and ask about his ankle then.
After stitches care? My son recently got his stitches removed, 17 of them to be exact. The Dr. didn't give me any info on how to care for the scab. He said to put antibiotic cream on it. He also put a bandage thing on it, but did not say if I should keep it on. How often should I apply the Antibiotic ointment, should I keep it covered? Can he bathe as usual. FYI, he's 4yrs old.

if stitches wont work, how could you care for many deep gash wounds? its for a story, this character got in a terrible accident and is covered head to toe in deep gashes stitches, staples and hospitals cant help for a variety of reason, so they give the character a lot of meds, cover the wounds in disinfectant and antibodies and wrap them in a lot of gauze would this work? what problems would they have to watch for? what else would they need to do? anything else you can add please do so
Taking care of stitches? I got a mole removed yesterday, and the doctor put some stitches in.Can someone please help me with how to take care of them?Oh,and if this helps any,the mole was in between my right shoulder and my neck. after-stitches care for a deep cut on my foot...? I stepped on a piece of glass and cut my foot probably 1/2" deep about 2 weeks ago. The cut is right in the very center of the bottom of my foot. I got 6 stitches and just took them out yesterday- they stung when i took them out and the cut still looked like it would come open easily. I put steri-strips on it and went back to using crutches. Now i see it is bleeding a little thru the strips. I have heard I'm not supposed to take steri-strips off but i'm not sure how well it's healing and want to take a look- any suggestions what to do from here on out?
how to properly care for stitches? i just had a huge mole removed from under my boob and the Doctor went really deep to get all of it out but all he said was no swimming in the lake this weekend and rest so i don't get a staff infection i go back in 2 weeks to have the stitches removed but what all do i need to do to care for the wound in the mean time
I have stitches in my finger but no advice to care for them. I cut my finger on glass 2 nights ago and i received 4 stitches in my middle finger on my left hand. Thing is, the doctor that did the stitches gave me no advice how to care for them except "Don't get them wet" and I need a little more guidance. It's looking alright but i've been getting a throbbing sting pain and it's quite painful. It's swelling and possibly bruising a bit, not too sure. Paracetamol doesn't really do the job for it, and I'm keeping it elevated when possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
how to take care of stitches? So, I fell 2 days ago and i got 3 stitches in the back of my head, the doctor said I could wash my hair cuz obviously I bled a lot! but he was playing around a lot, and the nurse said i couldn't, so do everyone that i talk to.... Can I wash my hair (gently obviously)? Do I need to put something on it? like alcohol (isopropyl) perhaps?
Caring for stitches, doctor gave no care instructions, confused.? Yesterday I cut the back of my calf when a glass bottle of juice smashed and a piece bounced up and gashed the back of my calf. The doctor gave me 4 stitches. Being new years eve, the doctor was very rushed and I barely got a chance to ask questions, nor did he bother to tell me how to care for the wound. All he said was to keep it dry and covered. The doctor put a water proof thing on it, which is see through. During the night I can see that it has been bleeding. So what am I meant to do? The waterproof adhesive he put on it appears to be sticky, and the sticky part is over the entire wound, meaning if I took it off to replace it with a fresh one it would most likely pull at the wound and stitches. Im really confused, and I wish he had bothered to tell me what I am supposed to do. Surely Im not meant to leave this waterproof thing on it for 2 weeks until I am scheduled to go back and get the stitches out. Surely I would be supposed to change the dressing occasionally. Anyone had experience with stitches? I really need some help.
Care of small wounds with stitches? Please can anyone advise me how to care for a small wound that has stitches? I had a mole removed on my chest. The third day after I changed the dressing and used boiled water with salt in to clean the area. Is it ok to get it wet? Do I need to keep it covered? Should I be cleaning it? Many thanks
Follow up care with stitches? My 17 month old fell today & ended up with a 1/2 inch laceration & bleeding. We took him to the ER & they stitched it up with dissolvable sutures. At discharge, the RN told me something about cleaning it with 1/2 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1/2 parts water & then apply antibiotic cream - my son was so ready to go at that point & I cant remember after how many days to start that? I just wondered if anyone has experience with this?
butterfly stitches? Laceration care...? My fiance just got little paper stitches *i think they are called butterfly stiches* last nite that were supposed to stay on for 5 days but he was working and they came off already... They are on his hand and knuckles... What do we do now that they came off? Also he works around raw chicken all day and I am gonna clean his cuts real good for him when he gets home... How do I carefully clean them? What do i clean them with? Peroxide, Alcohol, Neosporin? I want to make sure the raw chicken doesnt make him sick or his wounds infected... Please help well he does wear gloves working with the chicken, but still.
Just got surgery, how to take care of the stitches and stop swelling from the bandage? I had a ganglion cyst removed on thursday, and i was wondering how i should be taking care of my wrist. They gave me gauze and an ace bandage to cover it and told me obviously not to get it wet, and whenever i change the bandage or look at my hand i notice that its extremely spongy and swollen no matter how much i loosen it. I just changed it again after leaving it off long enough for the swelling to go down, but i can tell its coming back. Anything i can do, btw it probably doesn't matter but there dissolve-able stitches.
stitches on my forehead!! wound care/scar prevention? so i got a 3 inch cut on my forehead and had to get 13 stitches... i have herd of some stuff called scar tape, to help reduce the appearance of the scar. What do you recommend as far as daily care, cleaning and prevention of scar. should i wash daily with soap? How long should i wait to get stitches removed? Should i bandage it or let it breath?
Do I Need Stitches? How Should I Care For This Cut? (Almost 1/2 Inch Deep)? So I was doing some homework and ended up dropping an exacto knife right on my big toe! It was sticking straight out of my foot it was pretty crazy. Anyway the cut is about 1/8ths of an inch wide and judging by that(I measured the exacto knife afterwards because I was amazed I had actually done this to myself) about 3/8ths(almost 1/2 inch!) deep. I applied pressure on it and poured rubbing alcohol on it and it stopped gushing blood after about 10 minutes. Since it was such a clean cut do I need to get stitches? It's so small I wouldn't think so, but am concerned because it's fairly deep. How should I care for it besides keeping it clean?
Taking Care of Stitches? I just got stitches in this afternoon on my leg and I heard I should cleanse with a solution so which is better hydrogen peroxide or sodium chloride, I have both so price is unnecessary. Also what should I do with my wound these first two days.
Why is she getting pain around the Cesarean stitches? 3 months ago she had a cesarean. She started doing her household works from the first month itself. Gynecologist said ok to do so. These little paining will be a problem? How long she should take care of her stitches? Can she continue her household works?
Any advice for taking care of scrapes and stitches? I had a really bad fall on a moped about 2 days ago and I slid right through gravel/rocks. I rushed to the ER and I ended up getting 6 stitches in my elbows. Other than that both my knees are scraped up, one worse than the other. The pain is so antagonizing and I can't walk because it hurts so bad to bend my knees. Water hurts on all wounds but I did manage to wash up the scrapes with antibiotic soap and warmish water. The stitches on the other hand, I could only rinse off. I do take care of all wounds and change my bandages about twice a day, morning and night, and use neosporin+ pain. So my question is, should I keep my knees bent or straight? Covered or uncovered? What should I do about the pain with my stitches? Thanks (:
how am i supposed to take care of my stitches? I resently got stiches (yesterday) 6 of them to be exact, in my ankel/shin region. I got a pamphlet but I lost it. So I'm wondering what im supposed to do, I know that im saposed to change the bandaid every day. I think that it said I am to contact someone if its still bleeding the next day... which it is... so basically im wondering how to take care of them and watch out for infection and should I go back to get my foot checked out since it's still bleeding. By the way, the nurse that stitched up my foot just told me change the bandaids and handed me the pamphlet so thats why I'm so clue-less.
Deep cut to tip of middle finger, how do I care for my 3 stitches? I had a battle w/ a campbell's soup can & it won. So I sliced the top digit on my middle finger open. It bled for over 2 hours. But it happened in the evening & I didn't want to pay for the emergency room. So I went to an Urgent Care around 10:00am, but they took FOREVER, so it was around 12:45pm before they got me all stitched up 3 stitches. The doc. said they preferred people get stitched up w/ in 8 hrs to prevent infection, so I need to watch my cut & make sure I don't see any signs. Just let me know any advice you have on the subject? Thank you!
How to care for stitches? Playing basketball I got flipped and landed on my head. I have 6 stitches to the right of my eyebrow trailing down my temple. I asked the doctor if I could take a shower tonight; he said maybe but if I only do a quick, very cautious one. He also said to apply neosporin, but didn't say when. Online I've read not to get near water for at least 24 hours. So do I apply neosporin to the wound as is without washing? Also, what do I do with the blood? It is starting to harden around the stitches, but some is still dripping down my face. Do I wipe the blood from the stiches area or let it harden on top of the stitches?
How to take care of stitches? I had a freak accident yesterday (with a glass owl that fell on my leg) and it left a gash on my leg that wouldn't stop bleeding! It didn't even hurt! I went to the hospital and they gave me 5 stitches total, and the doctor gave me directions..but I forgot to ask what I'm supposed to do while or after my shower! It's my first time having stitches and I'm kinda nervous about infection or what not. My questions are: Can I leave the stitches exposed in the shower? After my shower...antibiotic ointment and band-aid...or leave it uncovered...? It's really sore as well...so if you know any tricks, that would be helpful as well!! Please no mean comments..I'll report you! If you want to be funny, that is fine, I don't mind that! LOL. Thanks.
How do I care for stitches? Yesterday I sliced my palm/thumb when I was carving a pumpkin. 4 stitches, and they put a big bandage on my hand. The bandage came most of the way off while I slept; so can I take it the rest of the way off, or should I wait a few hours? To keep it clean, can I rinse it with warm water, spritz it with Bactine, and dap Neosporin on it? What about re-bandaging it? All they told me was to rinse it (not soak it) and to come back in 8-10 days to have them removed (sooner if it looks infected). I just really don't want to screw anything up. Thanks for all your help!!
Why does everyone forget that In America you can get health care? If you have insurance or not??????? Hello!!! I had to take my husband to the hospital to get stitches we had no health care at the time and they even lowered the bill started off at like 700, before we even left the hospital they had lowered it to like 500 something and let us make monthly pymts on it until it was paid. He got great care. These people who don't have health care wont be able to afford the new health care Very true sunshine. I hate to kinda agree with you but the cancer part I do.

Two stitches in bottom lip care? I got two dissolvable stitches in my lip tonight after my puppy head-butted me by accident and busted it open. The doctor told me they'd dissolve in 7 days, and that I needed to take antibiotics 3 times a day for a week, but he didn't tell me if there was anything I should or shouldn't do, or foods I should avoid, if ice would help - that kind of thing - does anyone have any suggestions of things I might need to do that might help? Thank you
How do I take care of my cat's stitches? So three days ago they shaved my cat pretty hard and they hurt her but they are only superficial so the goddamn vet didn't tell me about the stitches an when I found out I called him and he said he did stitch them so that she wouldn't lick at them (doesn't make sense but eh) anyway she has Like two on her right arm and two on her right leg but she didn't do anything about them so that kind of comforts me that they don't hurt her. How do I take care of em? Do I have to dab them with something? They don't seem to hurt her. Are they supposed to fall out or dissolve within the next couple of days? What are the signs of infection? It's a little powdery on the stitches but he said it's a medicine to accelerate the healing process. is that true? I'm never taking her to that vet ever again. Plz if you have any piece of info share it here I'll be very thankful!
Has anyone else ever had a cat cause them to get stitches? Just yesterday, me and my best friend worst sitting outside petting my new kitten. Her mom comes up behind us walking her dog and my cat climbed up my face leaving punctures, scrapes, and one big giant gash. I went to Urgent Care, where they gave me stitches for my terribly painful cut. I had to get nine stitches on my chin and I have to take antibiotics for 10 days. I had to get nine stitches on my chin and I have to take antibiotics for 10 days.
stitches on top of my foot , how to take care of it . etc ? so today i dropped the blade of a meat slicing machine on top of my foot & blood was all over the place it was bleeding bad i put pressure on it & went to urgent care , they looked at it & said immediatley it wasn't a long cut but it was deep & needed stitches . so i got 3 stitches , well they put a gauze on it & said i needed to keep to gauze over the stitches for 24 hrs . right now when i walk it feels like the stitches are ripping out of my foot , i am limping while im walking and not bending my foot since it hurts . i just want to know if this is normal feeling or what , first time ever getting stiches so i have no clue what to expect . they told me to clean it with water & soap and keep it clean . they told me to come back in 7-10 days . can i go back on exactly the 7th day ? because the day after that i start school & really dont want stitches in my foot on my first day back in school . here's a picture of it . http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/bb268/COLA_040/?action=view¤t=stitchesinmyfoot.jpg -kinda small . sorry *when i say come back on the 7th day , i mean come back & get the stitches removed .
Can I give my dog a shower after stitches been removed? My dog got neutered 2 weeks ago...I took great care of him and the stitches for the whole 2 weeks. They just took out his stitches this morning. Can I give him a shower the same day they removed his stitches? Also my other dog is dealing with some irritation, can I give her a shower while she has irritation? Thnx in advance
What happens if you don't get stitches on something that needs it? I accidentally cut my arm but I don't want to go to the hospital/doctor because I just stopped cutting like a year or so ago and even though i haven't started again, my mom will automatically think that I am and have a heart attack or something and my dad will start fighting with my mom and it will cause problems and I don't want to get into that. What will happen if I don't get it stitched? How can I take care of it and let it heal without infection?
How do I care for a dog who keeps ripping out her stitches? I am fostering a Pit Bull/Husky mix dog for the local no-kill shelter this weekend. Lucy is around 18 months old. Thursday, the vet spayed her and cropped her tail (due to recurrent infection, not cosmetic). While at the shelter Thursday night, Lucy ripped out all of her stitches. The vet patched everything back up on Friday. I took her home Friday afternoon. Today, she ripped out all of her tail stitches - even with the Elizabethan collar on. We managed to get some gauze and tape on it, but not well, and she soon got that off. It's hard to do much, since she really dislikes having her tail touched (no surprises there!). Since we cannot get her to the vet until Monday at the earliest, how should we take care of this? We are keeping her in a crate. She is a very good-natured dog, but very strong, and even two of us cannot get her to hold still for more than a few seconds. Also, she is taking an antibiotic and a NSAID once a day. Please help!
What are some tips for caring for perineal stitches? I gave birth to my first baby on the 20th of February. He was 9lbs 6 oz. Considering I treated the area above my knees and below my belly button like a well-guarded fortress, it wasn't a surprise that the size of my baby had quite an impact on my perineal area. I ended up having 3rd degree tears. Does anyone have any advice to help the healing process? I know everyone has their own little tricks, don't be shy!
How do I find out how to care for stiched finger? Middle finger was smashed, 16 stitches, nail was removed and taped on to protect 3 stiches under. Finger was labled "high risk for infection" (I went in the day after the accident on May 18) and has been changed daily and all of antibiotics taken. Neosporin on wounds but no longer cleaned after 2nd check from hospital. No breaks in bones but cuts from knuckle to tip of finger and the wounds were tendon deep.No insuance to go to the hand speialist that was recommended. What can I do to continue care of this and what do I do about the stitches when they're so small?
How much do you think 2-3 stitches on my toe would cost without insurance? I cut my toe pretty bad (about 2.5 hours ago and it is still bleeding) I am pretty sure I need a couple stitches but I don't have health insurance right now. Its not a huge deal, I can just wrap it up good in bandages but I would prefer to see a doctor. How much do you think it would be? I am very close to both an urgent care and a hospital. I tried to call it is just an automated message about if you require a house call leave a message.
What is the best way to remove stitches from my hand? I KNOW! Go to a doctor. But seriously, I knew when I did it I needed to be sewed up (duct tape wasn't gonna take care of that one) and went to ER and had it done. Cost me an arm & a leg. Now I dont want to pay $$$$$$$ just to have em removed at the ER. People have told me I can do it myself and I'm certain I can. They are blue nylon stitches and I can sterilize the area with alcohol and a few shots for myself. The wound has healed nicely and there is NO sign of infection whatsoever.
How do I take care of my stiches? I just got stitches on my upper lip. How do I take care of them? Can I put water on them or should I keep water off until I get them taken out. Also should I put antibiotic gel on them? Any ideas or tips would be appreciated. Thanks and they hurt. :( I just got them last night.
Does anybody work in a wound care center? I have a wound from a sebaceous cyst removal on my chest. I had it removed three months ago. The wound will heal then about a week later it forms a ball of pus under the wound and will ooze out. I have been back to the surgeon but he keeps saying that it is probably just infected. I have had it cauterized, had dissovable stitches taken out and have been on antibiotics but it still will go back and forth with the wound being healed then opening back up. I made an appointment at a wound care center, but they can not see me for another two weeks. I was just wondering if somebody worked in a wound care center what do they think could be the problem or what would the doctor probably do when I go to see them. I just need some info to calm my nerves until my appointment in two weeks. Thanks.

How does one feed and care for a baby bunny? Here's the stitch - we have a baby bunny in a cat cage. How does one propely take care of it? How does one feed it? It has no mother, and the cat dragged it in..., we thought it was dead, but it's alive. HELP!
Do illegal immigrants pay for emergency room care? I recently carried my son to the local emergency room to have his leg stitched up. I just received a bill for over $1200 from the hospital. But during our visit, the emergency room appeared to be packed with illegal aliens. I would estimate that around eighty percent waiting were illegals. Is there some kind of special program that enables them to get emergency room care at a reduced cost? (I really didn't see any that I would call emergencies) Are they jjust getting free checkups or something? Why so many in the waiting room without real emergencies, and do they pay anything?
Have you ever taken care of yourself at work? Have you ever taken care of someone else? I used to work with people with developmental disabilities. So, of course, I took care of them. Also, once I hit my head against a nail when I was a restaurant manager. I had to go to the clinic to get stitches. So I guess even though the doctor stitched me up and gave me the tetanus shot, he couldn't have done that if I hadn't gotten my ass to the clinic. Right? Have you ever taken care of yourself or others at work?
I was just in a car accident and got stitches in my forehead? I am worried about scarring. I have 6 stitches near the middle of my forehead...right in plain sight. I had stitches before, but in my leg and i didn't worry about the scarring to much then, so i don't really know how to take care of it. What is recommended to do before and after the stitches come out? also, my boyfriend was in the accident, and is all cramped up. what could i do to help ease his muscle pain? is a heating pad good?
Best way to label clothing for day care? Hand-stitch? Magic marker? Other ideas? Our day care requires each item be labelled, and labelling all the clothing seems like a HUGE project. Any suggestions for making it easier?
Abscess on my back got drained today. How to care? They told me to clean it with soap and water twice a day. But I am scared, it is a big cut , more than an inch and no stitches. Any suggestions about how to care and what to expect? Please help , I would really appresiate it.
How do I know if my kid needs stitches in his lip? He fell last night and cut his lip. It bled a little bit, but got pretty fat...He is three and if I can avoid a trip to the Urgent Care, I would like to do so...but if he needs to have it stitched, then I obviously want to do that!
I need advice on how to make a care label for a baby quilt? I was thinking about cutting a 2" X 3" rectangle of light-colored fabric using pinking shears, writing the care directions with a permanent marker, and sewing that rectangle on the backing of the quilt (before it gets sewn on the quilt top, so that the thread doesnt show) using a zig-zag stitch. Would that work?

what does it feel like to get stitches? I cut my thumb. I think i may need stitches but I have never had them before. Before I make that trip to the ER can someone please fill me in. I don't care how graphic, the truth please. How do they do it, What does it feel like and do they numb it for you first?
How do I care for a kitten post operation? My little kitten has been neutered and she is wearing a collar and I would really appreciate some advise on what to do for the next 10 days until her stitches come out. I really don't want her to be in pain but I am worried about what to do.
Can my girlfriend get medical care? My girlfriend is visting the me in the UK from sweden and while she is here she will need some stitches removed. Do I have to do anything to ensure she recieves free medical care to remove the stitches while she is here? I know theres an EU health insurance card but that is intended to cover you if you fall ill or injure yourself. Since she has prior knowlege that she will require medical care when she is here i'm not sure this will be covered. As for doing it myself, thats what she wants me to do. I dont really want to.
Is it safe to remove stitches myself? I called to make an appointment to get my stitches removed. AFter being tossed around on the phone, (they didn't even ask for my name) they just concluded to return to Urgent Care and find the same doc, and have them do it. O_o On top of that, it's quite the drive to return to the same doc. Is it safe for me to remove them myself. It's day 8 and they should be removed in 10 days. I have 6 stitches on the tip of my finger.
How can I be sure minor son is taken care of as result of injury in a car accident? Son hit from behind and suffered head lacerations (25 stitches) and post concussion symptons. Truck totalled and he could not drive for 30 days following accident due to dizziness. Grades suffered for honor student who is graduating senior. I just want to make sure the insurance company pays the maximum amount to cover potential future problems. I have not retained an attorney yet.
Box turtle just got stitches for gash outside turtle~is it normal to have pocket of fluid at stitch site? So my turtle came inside for his weekly soaking (they have a waterbowl outside for soaking on their own as well). We take excellent care of our turtles but one had a cut on his leg that was rather large. We took him to the vet where he was given nitrous and then stitches. We have given him antibiotics at home and used the ointment like instructed but now he has a large pocket around the stitches. He's also not eating (not sure I would be either). Is this normal or should I be worried? My vet is out of town and I don't wan to bother her for something trivial. Thanks in advance! He's staying inside while he recuperates. We've been keeping turtles for eight years and this is the only real "crisis" we've had where I just don't know what to do.

Anybody ever had suture stitches on their heel? I sliced my foot on a putty knife 1/10 and its on like the side of my heel, but still on the tough part of it. Can anybody give me hints on how to take care of it other than the norm and about how long do they need to stay in?
If you get stitches, will you have a scar for the rest of your life? I might have to get a small surgery in a few months and the doctor will make some small cuts. Then they are going to give me stitches to wear and I think they will be on for a few days to maybe a week. My question is after they take the stitches out, will I have the scars for my whole life or will the scars eventually heal if I take care of them properly? ♥ Thanks for your help! =)

Anyone Have A Care Bears Cross Stitch Baby Bib Pattern? I'm specifically looking for a pattern in the Care Bears Baby Sweet Things booklet (the one that says 'Superstar' on it) but any will do. Also I don't want to sign up for any forum's or anything like that so no .com's are necessary unless it's to the exact pattern. Thanks!!!
How do I take care of my leather boots? I bought a pair of black leather Dr. Martins around 4 years ago and I just noticed there are tiny cracks in the leather. What does this indicate? My shepherd did get to them one night, but, fortunately for her, she did next to no damage. Might this be damage I didn't notice at the time? How do I prevent more cracking? Also, some of the stitching has come undone; is there any way to fix this?

If a cut stops bleeding does it need stitches? The barber cut my ear at the top. I mean really cut it, not just scratch it. I didn't think it was any big deal at the time but it hurts more now almost a day later than it did then. Should I go to one of those immediate care places?
i have a few questions about care after getting tooth pulled? several days ago i had a tooth pulled. stitches were put in and the dentist gave me penicillin to take for 5 days. the information sheet on post operative care i was given was not very explicit. it said not to rinse with salt water until after 8 hours, but it didn't say how often per day or for how many days. the dental assistant just said to do it very gently. the sheet also said not to lay horizontal when going to bed, make sure your head is sufficiently elevated. my questions are how many nights do i have to sleep with my head elevated, and how long and how many times per day do i rinse with salt water and will this effect my stitches that are to dissolve over time in any way.
