How can I get my embroidery stitches even? I am a beginner at embroidery and love what can be done with it. For the life of me though, I cannot get my stitches even and consistent so it always looks like a two year old did it. Any suggestions?

Where to get plastic iron on adhesive wrap for embroidery (to cover the loose stitches on the inside) of a hat? I sewed on a design onto a hat using just a pin and thread, and I need to get iron on adhesive (the kind they use for embroidered patches I guess) so cover the loose stitches on the inside of the hat so that when I wear it the stitches do not move. Holding embroidery stitches in? I had a class a few years ago that I made a pillow in and I gave it to a friend. However, now I'm going back and making him a blanket to match it but I need something that will help keep the stitching in if it's going to go through the wear and tear of a blanket. How do you wash cross stitch embroidery? I bought a kit with a pattern printed on it while on vacation, but I don't know how to wash the ink off when I'm finished. Washing it with water makes the ink smudge, but there are some very large numbers and arrows all over the piece that I need to get rid of. Most people just bring it back to the shop to get it washed, but now I've left the country and I don't know what they use to wash it with.

Why is my sewing machine's embroidery module giving me looped or loose stitches? As I'm in a huge hurry to finish making Christmas gifts to get them in the mail, I'm running into a problem with my Bernina Artista 180E embroidery. Most of the stitches are perfect, but about 7 or 8 stitches per "letter" are loose/pulled/looped. What would be causing this? I've never had this problem in all the years I've had the machine. Embroidery machines: Does anyone know if the stitch erasers work? I have a brother PE-150. I had a little "mis-hap" with a canvas tote bag. I've been using fine, sharp pointed scissors, with a little success. It is just very time consuming. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the "electric clipper" looking stitch erasers...or any other ideas to take out my stitches that were messed up! Thanks.

Babylock Ellure BLR - Machine Embroidery Stitching Problem? Hello everyone, I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I'm having. I just bought a Babylock Ellure BLR, and I'm just learning how to use it. The machine came with a couple of designs already sewn onto fabric, like for an example. When I try to do the same design, the stitches aren't really that tight together when I try doing the same design. You can see small gaps in between each stitch. I'm stitching on 100% cotton fabric with a tearaway stabilizer with polyster embroidery thread. I tried putting 2 sheets of stabilizer but it only helps a little bit. Also, I'm using a 70/11 ball point needle. Please Help! Teri
Can Riccar sewing machine Models # 2600 and #777 use the same embroidery cams? These are older sewing machines. I just bought a 2600 that's in great condition, but came without any of the embroidery cams to make some of the fancy stitches. I found some #777 cams for sale, and from pictures they appear to be the same. Does anyone know for sure if the cams can be used in both machines? Difference between Embroidery and Cross Stitch? I'm new to Cross Stitching and the pattern says to "Embroider" the pattern on the fabric. Is that just lingo for "Out Line." If I remove embroidery by hand will it ruin the fabric or leave holes from the stitching? I have a very nice coat that has an embroidered logo on it but I want to remove the logo. If I remove the stitching will it look bad because of the holes from all the stitching?
Why does my embroidery machine mess up when I stitch small letters? I am personalizing a pillow and started the first letter. For some reason the machine jams up everytime I try to make letters. What am I doing wrong in my embroidery as letters pull the fabric? I have a Brother Pe 700 Embroidery machine. I am trying to embroider a word on a tee shirt. The letters are about half inch but they pull the fabric and once done the writing is "crooked". Does it have to do with "pull compensation" or with type of stitch? Please give details. Thanks

Why are people not joining embroidery guilds in the USA? We have lost members over the years and are down to about 12 when we once had about 90 members. Are people just too busy? Is there a trend away from needlework, handwork, embroidery? I know knitting has become popular in some places. Is it just a cycle or sign of the times? Kids seem to enjoy tactile arts (knit, crochet, cross-stitch), but don't seem to be looking for places that teach it.

Viking D1 machine embroidery pulling the white bobbin thread up ? HI, I'm jumping back into machine embroidery and used to do quite a bit 7 years ago, I've forgotten a lot ! I am stitching it out and the white bobbin thread is coming up around the red letters so that they have a small white edge, not right ! Does anyone know how to fix this ? Thanks
should I buy a computerized sewing machine? I am an experienced seamstress. I have a good mechanical Kenmore machine, but would like to have one with self threading needle and self winding bobbin. Am looking at a sears computer model for under $400. I really don't need all the embroidery stitches, but would like the other features. Any suggestions out there?

I need help with an embroidery thread stains on fabric after I take the thread out.? I embroidery large purple letters on my project and then dicovered a defect in the project so I am taking out the letters, but there is a trace of purple still apperent. The fabric is a cross stitch 14 count I beleive, it was originaly whitek, but I died it taupe with a fabric die from the store. I want to know how to get the purple traces out, so I can re-embroider the purple in a slightly different place. I can not wash the entire project since it has embroidery elsewhere. But I can hand wash this part. I want to know if there is any soap to use, or tool. thanks.

Embroidery on the afghan stitch? I am helping my mother with an afghan and have put it off for weeks now. How old is my vintage Domestic sewing machine? It's a Domestic 762 Zig-zag machine, it's all blue metal with red letters on it. It has some fancy embroidery stitches that it can do (hence the zig-zag name). I can't seem to find anyone else on the internet that has one.
