Can my Brother SE350 embroidery machine read from standard memory cards and what type? ? It looks like a slot for something like a compact flash card. Does anyone know what type of card this is? I can't imagine I'd have to buy "special" cards. I know I'll need software to digitize/convert images in PES format. I'd imagine the software also knows how to format the card so it can be read by the embroidery machine.

What kind of embroidery card do I need to purchase for my brother SE -350.? Upon a recommendation I purchased the Amazing Box Max software with a PES embroidery card. When I inserted the card into my machine I got an error message stating "this card can not be used on this machine. All information in the Amazing Box card & software say the card is compatible. Is this card bad, or does the 350 need a specific pes card? I am at a loss.

I really like the idea of this machine, because it also does embroidery to embellish small areas. Any experiences? any information on whether it will be discontinued soon? is there a better model, or brand?? I don't want to spend thousands +. Is it too noisy? Is it too heavy? Is it easy for a beginner? Can it use the feet for specialty projects? Are the embroidery cards too expensive? Any information would be appreciated.

I am after a brother embroidery only machine, i also need the software with this, PE DESIGN 7 or PE DESIGN LITE, obviously the lite is alot less expensive, i want to produce my own designs but dont want to pay for somthing i do not need, has any1 any experience of these packages, also as ive been searchin for the software ive found various sites you can download them for free, however im under the impression you need the brother card reader/writer and you can only buy this with the software? has anyone any advice! Will Brother PE Basic bought from America work on my UK Brother machine? I am looking to buy some PED Basic software and blanks cards for my Brother PE150 embroidery machine. It is almost half the price in America than it is here and I was wondering if it will work okay. I know that the actual brother design cards bought from America won't work.

I have not yet received this machine but I'm wondering what types of software are good for embroidering? I know it comes with some built-in designs, it also comes with a memory card slot, to add more. I would like to buy one that will allow me to upload my OWN drawings and designs to embroider. What software do I use to merge fonts or alphabets into a word on my Brother PE-150 embroidery machine? I would like to buy some alphabet designs from the internet, and I have the PED Basic software to put them onto a memory card for my Brother PE-150 machine. If I remember correctly from my first machine(this is my second time owning this kind of machine), I can put the letters into individual files on the card. I want to know how to merge the letters into a word, such as a name, so that I don't have to embroidery each letter individually. I haven't yet opened the PED Basic program, because I wanted to find out if I needed something else first. Thanks!

I have a Brother LB6770 Embroidery/sewing machine and have a few questions about applique' and software.? The machine only came with one pre-programmed applique' design, I would like to by a memory card for the machine with alphabet applique' embroidery designs and can only find one standard font that I am not interested in. The customer service at Brother told me that if I loaded applique' designs on my blank memory card from my computer and put the memory card in my machine that it may not recognize it as being an applique' and I would end up having to do it myself! Not what I wanted to hear. Furthermore, I am upset because I have an amazing Apple laptop which I love but is not compatible with my sewing machine software. Help for my Brother 270D Embroidery Machine!? I Just got my Brother 270D emboidery machine for Christmas so I am new to the world of embroidering. I have purchased and downloaded a few fonts so that I can use them on my machine. I put them on the memory card and put the card in my machine, but here's my problem. Each letter is a different design on the memory card. So how do I combine the letters to spell a name so that my machine can embroider the name all at once? Example: I want to embroider the name "Olivia" but the O is one design, then the "L" is another, etc. I can't do one letter at a time or else I'll never get the spacing right! When you use the four fonts that are on the machine, you can type in all the letters you want to use and then it embroiders them all as one design. How can I do this with fonts that I've downloaded onto my memory card?

I own a Brother Disney embroidery machine and I tried to place a memory card in the slot (Using the Manual) when I turn the machine back on the LCD screen is lit up but blank. what embroidery/sewing machine under $400 is a better choice? Brother 350 or 270? My wife is big in crafts and sewing and for her birthday i wanted to get her something she would use. we have small children and i think she'd get a lot of use out of a machine that does both, she makes the kids clothes and a ton of other stuff. our 4 year old is big on the Cars movie (lightning, mater, etc...) but the brother pe350 doesn't allow for disney cards. that leaves the brother 270d, but there aren't that many good reviews on it. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I would love to get into Embroidery as a hobby and I have found a machine I believe I would like...? It is called Brother pc-8500d fs Disney. Does each brand of machine only accept certain memory cards? I also see that you can purchase blank memory cards. How would you use those? Do you put pictures on there? I am not sure how to do that, at all...? If you know of any website with lots of information for someone new to embroidery, please share! This machine is on sale for $1999.00 which I thought would be a good place for me to start. Can you give me an idea of what a good machine will cost? which sewing, embroidery machine should I buy? I havent used one before but there is a deal on the sofia babylock embroidery/sewing machine 699.00 but im am unsure of which to get between the sofia or brother one at walmart, they look identical just about but the sofia has a usb port vs the brother just having a card port. Embroidery downloading? I have a brother sewing machine that has a usb port. You are supposed to be able to download designs and the machine embroiders. I can design anything , but computer stuff yikes ! AnY HELP. i THINK i NEED TO BUY SOMETHING THAT ALLOWS THE CARDS TO BE READ!

anyone with brother SE270D help..? I am new to USA. I am planing to buy this particular Brother model SE270D. The machine says computerized. what does that mean. I know basic tailoring/embroidery. I have not handled any embroidery machine. Will this be difficult to follow? The machine does come with a lot of designs.But most of those mikeymouse etc I may not use at all. Is there any provision to load my own created designs on to computer modify the format and load it onto card and the machine? Also I plan to take it to India in a year so any idea if there would be any problems that may be possible? Is there a cheaper end sewing/embroidery machine that can handle a few small leather jobs? I'm about to start learning how to sew for crafting, clothing, and costuming. I wanted to get a lower cost yet good sewing/embroidery machine around $700 is my limit for this artistic excursion. There are a few great deals I'm finding, but I have no clue what I'm getting into with these machines. Call me a "jack of all trades" I would love to have a machine with multiple uses and functions for later when I become more familiar with the basics and want to push myself to using a machine like the ones I'm considering to their full potential. I would like a machine that can handle leather (softer leathers for the most part but possibly some heavier ones not layered more than twice as well). This machines main use would definitely NOT be for leather working as I know their are machines geared just for that purpose, but the occasional ability to handle leather would be fantastic! I have posted my interest in the Brother LB-6800PRW because it is cheaper and has a great package deal other buyers on Amazon are raving about along with the quality of the machine itself. And the Brother LB6800PRW Heavy-duty because (again a novice due to my lack of understanding and ability to find anything concrete on these machines online) the "Heavy-duty" made me think it would be able to stand the leather even though it does not have the nice accessories the other Brother comes with. I am not a fan of any make or model, I would just want it to be able to take a flash drive/USB or other storage card from my computer and make a design. The Janome's are beautiful but so expensive, and the same can be said for most of the others. I have seen much posted that makes me want to stay way from newer Singers, and even the Brother company, but the prices are very alluring. If anyone knows a good place to direct me for deals lesser known than Amazon, NextTag, or eBay, or even a well rounded sewing/embroidery machine that they stand behind with the functions in possibility I have listed, please inform me. Any help from a hardcore/long time crafter would be of great help to me as a novice to this realm of crafting :) Thanks so much!

brothers pe design software? In 2002 I bought a brother embroidery machine and Pe- Design 4.0. I am on a fixed income and can not afford to upgrade my Pe- Design software. My granddaughter got a hold of my security dongle and put it somewhere and I can not find it to save my life and she is to young to understand when I ask here where it is. My question is this. Has someone upgraded and have a security dongle I might be able to purchase? I have all of the software, the reader/writer, blank memory card and am just missing the security device. Without it I can not create designs for my grandkids. I have tried some free downloaded software but the design looks fine on the screen but awful when I try it on the machine. Help choosing a sewing machine ? I am completely new to the sewing world, having only stitched a few things by hand and sewn on a few buttons (and done a little cross-stitch as a child). I really want to get into sewing, and there aren't any sewing classes offered in my area, so I will have to teach myself. I am leaning towards a Brother machine, but I am not opposed to other brands. I want a machine that is computerized, sews, does embroidery, and monograms. It would be great if it had a USB port or SD card. I have googled and youtubed and googled more. I've checked amazon and every other online store out there, but I still can't find a decent comparison chart. Can anyone recommend a good chart or even better, recommend a machine that would suit my needs? I don't want the cheapest machine out there, but I don't want the most expensive one either. I will be using the machine mostly for making clothes for the family.

need help deciding on which sewing machine to by! Please help!? Hi. I am wanting to buy a sewing/ embroidery machine for the least price possible. I am wanting to START sewing and monogramming things, your simple projects...such as baby gifts, pjs etc...(i am definitely a beginner) .The main thing I am looking for is to monogram. I found the brother se 350 on walmart.com for a reasonable price 380$, but I am afraid to get it without having someones personal opinion! I read all of the reviews and all, but since I know NOTHING about machines it is all so foreign! The only thing that prevents me from getting that one, is that it only embroiders a 4x4 area and I am thinking that may not be a big enough area?? But i don't know!! What should I look for in a combo machine like this? I would like to be able to add fonts and letters to the machine, but I don't want to pay a fortune for them. I know some machines have a usb port that allows you to download stuff from the internet,,is that expensive to do? And this one has some kind of card reader?? Does that allow you to do basically same thing? Anyway, please help me decide what to do! Thanks!
