I am trying to learn about the history of machine embroidery and I was wondering what year did the home embroidery machine become available, please? What brand was that? How can I keep old embroidery from fraying? I have some old t-shirts I bought while overseas that have a lot of sentimental value to me, but over time the embroidery on the front has begun to fray and even to come unravelled. It is simple threaded embroidery done by a machine, but I love the shirts and I would love to protect them. Is there a way I can repair them, or at the very least keep the pattern from unravelling further? There was backing on them at some point, but it has long since washed away. How does one stabilize a large piece of hand embroidery? I would like to hand embroider a large design on a tee shirt. The design will also have some beading and small metal pieces in it. I think the weight of the embroidery and embellishments will be too much for tee shirt material. Perhaps some kind of iron-on interfacing on the underside of the shirtwould work. How to whiten linen that is stamped for embroidery without losing the pattern? I ordered online a linen tablecloth that is stamped for embroidery, assuming it would be white as it appeared online. In real life, however, its got that sandy linen color. How do you change the hoop size on a Babylock Ellure embroidery machine? I have a 6"x13 1/2" embroidery hoop for my machine, but the machine will only recognize anything larger than a 5"x7" hoop. How can you shrink a white hoodie with red embroidery? it's 90% cotton 10% polyester. it's an extra large and im like a medium. im afraid if i wash it in hot water it will become pink because of the red embroidery. would it work if i just washed it in cold water and then dry it on hot a few times?
