where can i get a free cross stitch design software? I want to convert my family pictures to a cross stitch design chart.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can start my Cross Stitch Design business fom home? I'm thinking of starting my own home business soon using my own cross stitch designs, which I can produce quicker than I can cross stitch them. Does anybody have any tips I could use to start it? Or do any of you do this kind of work from home or know someone who has that might be able to give me some good tips?? And what about having/using a website to sell my work on? Any tips on starting it too since I don't have a website yet but I would like to use one for this. And what about copyrighting my designs for both the website and the booklets that I would be selling my designs in?? Can anybody provide info on that or where I can learn more on it? I'm half deaf so phone use will be a major problem (which is where the website helps) and I can not work full time due to a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) I suffered when I was a child, which caused my deafness and hearing loss. Any tips and info would be helpful and muchly appreciated on these. Thanks. No spam please just honest answers. I'm American.
Do you stitch straight onto the item you want the design on with an embroidery machine? When using an embroidery machine, do you stitch the design straight onto the shirt or whatever you want it on or do you stitch it onto fabric and then iron or sow it onto the clothes?

Cross stitch design? The pattern uses beads. It does not give you a color thread to use when applying the beads. The space only has a number relating to the specific bead on the guide. eg..XXX5XX 5xxx6nnn7mmm etc.

Some of the designs are on canvas, others are on evenweave, and one is on linen. By counted thread stitches I mean such things a Gobelin stitch, Rhodes Stitch, Needleweaving, things like that. What do people think of cross stitch-would you like to try it but think its uncool? I'm developing a modern cross stitch site where users pick designs to make their own giant samplers with their own messages and themes. What sort of images do you think would be good to use as designs, for example instead of old fashioned sampler images I have used modern day issues such as nuclear power stations and guns. Looking for photos of old time shadow quilting/Yarn is pulled through the back to color in the design.? You take 2 pieces of fabrics...draw your design on the top one and hand quilt around the image...Then turn to the back and using a large needle, pull dark colored yarns through from the hand quilting stitches to the other side of the design to color in your design.

How do you get tee shirts to have a design stiched into it? How can you stitch a design into a tee shirt rather than have it printed on? We want to start creating tee shirts that look more professional and were wondering how you stitch a design into a tee shirt.
Cross stitch pressing? Hi there! Okay, I'm doing a square cross stitch design, and at the moment its in an oval frame to keep it tight. But eventually when its finished I'm going to want to frame it, and when I remove the oval, there's going to be the oval crease in it. So how can I combat this? Do I just continue stitching inside the oval until I can't anymore, remove it, do the rest of the design and then iron it afterwards? In the instructions it has got how to press it, face down with the iron on medium, but I just thought I'd double check so I don't make a mess of it in the end. Thanks a lot in advance! :)
